Weekend with Temi Dollface and... Sisi Yemmie

Hello Double D's!

How are you? How was your weekend? Was it fun? Was it relaxing? Was it stressful? Was it annoying? Was it too short, too long, too weekendy? Tell me!

Well, I had a mostly relaxing weekend. Friday - nothing. Saturday - nothing. Sunday - a fun and relaxing evening at Temi Dollface's show.

Actually, I cooked on Friday and Saturday. Yes, it's a biggish deal, because I stayed in the kitchen for more than 30 minutes. Anybody who knows me knows that if the meal isn't quick and easy, I'm generally not interested in cooking it. But I felt like cooking hearty meals this weekend because the whole of last week, I mostly ate fruits and vegetables. So I made a Sweet Ground Beef and Vegetables Medley Sauce over rice on Friday, and then on Saturday, it was just Chicken Stew with rice/plantain for Cakes - I had a mashed sweet potato with my stew and was full!!!!!

Anyways, last week, while doing my usual perusing of Bella Naija's Events this Weekend, I noticed a Temi Dollface mini concert happening on Sunday at The Jazzhole in Ikoyi. I've always wanted to go to The Jazzhole, but Cakes hasn't taken me - it's not as if he's gone there himself, or stopped me from going myself o. And I like Temi Dollface a lot, so this was a MUST-DO for me this weekend. I asked Sisi Yemmie (My Big Nigerian Wedding winner and as she likes to call herself - DOROBLOGGER) if she and Bobo would be interested, because we've chatted a few times but never met and Cakes made their traditional wedding cake, and I thought we could have a double date. They accepted the invitation and I can tell you that we had a splendid time!

I have a sneaking suspicion you're focusing on something else, Mr. Cakes!

The Jazzhole is a CD, book, record, DVD and magazine shop. I haven't quite checked out their history, but I plan on visiting again and hopefully will get to talk more with the owners, who generously allowed me to take photos. They also have a coffee shop, and there's jazz music there EVERY WEEKEND!!!

Now please take note of the following cupcake pictures. See the small differences in the shots - focus in front vs. focus in the back. Mehn, I'll soon become a wedding photographer.

I feel like Temi's Nigeria's Betty Boop!

Temi Dollface is so pretty and soooooooo cute!!! And she's got this flirtatious, sexy, performance style. You just can't take your eyes off her when she's on stage. Whenever her album comes out, I am SO buying it! In fact, I will buy 2 or 3, so I can have another Giveaway :)

Sisi Yemmie and Bobo, who it turns out was at my send-off party when I was 15! We never met though

Couples Selfie!

Can you see the Sailor theme?

She can dance too!!! I wish I could put up videos of her performance! You know what, check my Instagram later today because I have to share this brilliance!

Funny encounter with the BEAUTIFUUUUUUUUUL DAKORE (she's a Nigerian actress). Sisi Yemmie has officially decided that Dakore is her twin sister, lol. So after she was done taking pictures with her family member, it was my turn to take pictures with her. I told her about a musical from last year, in which she acted. And just before she was to leave, she asks my name. I say "Berry." And she goes, "Berry Dakara?!" I'm like "OMG OMG, you know me?!" She's like, "Berry! And that's Cakes! Ah now I see." And I'm just like, "Huh? How on earth does she know I am?" And she's like, "Berry! You! Your blog!" SHILOKOIIIIIIIIIIII, somebody should help me o!!!! It was all I could do not to hyperventilate and run off to hide! Anyways, she was sweet and woot woot - RIVERS GIRLS FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!! Y'all dunno nothing bout that!

Sisi Yemmie's sister and her adorable baby girl, who was literally dancing!

And that, my friends, was my pretty weekend. I hope you have a BERRY wonderful week ahead. God bless you.

  5. Your hair is still looking gorgeous. It blends so well with your own hair.
Also, the second to last picture kinda jarred me into realizing the height difference between you and cakes.

  12. Ummm...I am jealous. The Jazzhole always seemed prettty cool but I never went. So that's going on my list for next time I'm home - you better make yourself available :P
And Temi Dollface - I like her style - she completely owns it.
