It's been 2 months since my family visited the UK. In my multi-part UK series posts, you saw England and Scotland through my eyes. One part of the trip I haven't yet posted on was our accommodation/vacation rentals.
This post is for the bloggers and vloggers out there. As content creators, we are constantly on the lookout for inspiration and ideas for videos and posts. Sometimes life can be boring and you run out of things to share on your platform. Well, I'm here to help out with several blog post ideas (or vlog ideas) that you can use from just one event/outing.
Let's say you go out on a date, or hangout with your friends. You don't have to put it all in one blog post. You can create more than one or two or even three posts from just one outing.
How was your weekend? Mine was beautiful! It started off with a vigorous walk/jog at a nearby park, followed by quite a bit of cooking. My mum, sister and I are committing to a health and fitness lifestyle. If you watched me on Snapchat yesterday (follow me @BerryDakara), you would have seen our discovery of yummy alternatives to spaghetti and fries/chips! Even my dad couldn't lie - he really liked them!

We're smack dab in the middle of summer with sweltering heat. I've generally disliked summers because I'd rather be cold than hot. My favorite season is either Spring with the fresh scent of rain and blooming flowers, or Fall when the leaves start to turn beautiful oranges, reds and browns. If I like anything about Summer it's the bright and clear blue skies. Oh, and the fact that wearing bright colors and florals fit the season.
African Naturalistas has released a new line of products. Atilola Moronfolu, the owner of African Naturalistas products, and a board certified Trichology practitioner said these products were created in order to meet the daily needs of women striving for healthy hair and scalps.
Can you believe I've been gone from Nigeria for almost 5 months?!?! It seems like just yesterday I was hopping from restaurant to event every weekend, and lamenting the traffic to and from work on weekdays. I do miss Nigeria though and I wanted to share some of the things I miss most.
How was your weekend? Mine was pretty darn good with lots of laughs - including going out for appetizers and desserts with my sister and cousin, and finding out that I forgot my handbag at the restaurant AFTER WE GOT HOME!!! I'm the only person that such things happen to, but thank God, they kept my bag and I rushed back over to get it :)
This is a video I promised a long time ago, but never got around to editing.
In my Lovely Links last week, I posted an article that showed ways to deal with internet jealousy. Before I found that article though, my sister and I recorded a video where we discussed social media envy and how we both deal with it. It's a little long but I think it's worth watching and I'd love to hear or read your views on the subject. If you've had social media envy, what caused it and how did you get over it? If you've never been jealous of anyone online, how did you manage to avoid it at all?
How are ya? I'm sorry I didn't post on Monday or Tuesday... I was ultra busy on Sunday (shhh, don't tell anyone, but I was filming a short scene for a movie that may be on Nigerian television!!!). Anyways, since I was busy all through Sunday, I didn't get a chance to do the editing I wanted. I'm done now, so check out my visit to the Martin Luther King Jr. Center in Atlanta. Check out my Discover Georgia series here. I have 2 or 3 more posts coming up in the next few weeks. Hmm, slowly but surely, my blog is taking on more of a Travel aspect, no?
I feel the need to let some things off my chest. On this blog, I generally try to have a positive and upbeat space. I have mentioned before that there's too much sadness in the world, and I'd rather just be happy-go-lucky here. I have also mentioned before that I typically don't like to watch news because of aforementioned bad news. Sometimes a news story will hit me so hard that I'm in tears while watching. For that reason, I would rather have my happy space here and not think about the issues of the world.
But it is getting harder and harder every day. I can imagine God in heaven lamenting over this world he created. There is so much hatred, tragedy, prejudice EVERYWHERE! In Nigeria, there's Boko Haram - even though half the country pretends they don't exist. In the Middle East, ISIS is terrorizing and slaughtering people in the name of religion that they don't even practice! In the US, black people are being killed for no apparent wrongdoings, and now the police attacks in retaliation are growing.
WHEN WILL IT STOP?! WHEN WILL IT END?! Do we need another Noah's Ark flood to reset the world? How can someone as a human being take someone else's life?! I feel bad if I litter and people are killing others without a conscience!!!
My heart is heavy. If the entire earth had a soul, I imagine it would be rolling in anguish. I'm at a loss. I don't know what can be done to stop the violence.
All I can say or hope is that we do what we can to show love. Love your neighbor. Love your enemy. Just show love however you can. Be a light in the middle of the darkness that's trying to overwhelm the world.
I've been a little bit down the past couple of days. There's so much tragedy in the US, Nigeria and all over the world. It's really beginning to get to me :( I'm just short of words and wish God would bring peace to the earth.
In the meantime, I did A LOT of online reading this week! Check out some of the links I found interesting. Oh, and as you can see, I'm still playing around with the graphics.
It's been a while since I did a style post hasn't it? The last one I posted was this one that featured Cakes. I've actually had it in mind to shoot some looks for the blog, but haven't gotten around to doing them. Anyways, today's post is still in line with the UK Holiday series. And it's specifically from the day we went for Afternoon Tea.
Edinburgh Castle in Scotland is the last photo-heavy post of my UK Holiday series! Any other posts will be via video/vlogs, so stay tuned for those. I must admit, I was starting to get a little fatigued with the posts - sooooo many photographs! I just did like someone suggested and didn't edit them... 2300 photos!
Anyways, thank God for a fantastic family vacation! We're trying to have an annual trip, and thinking next year will be in CUBA! We'll see sha.
Like I mentioned in yesterday's post, Royal Mile is sandwiched between Holyrood Palace and Edinburgh Castle.
I know most of us have been or are in holiday mode, and I hope you're all enjoying yourselves. The UK Holiday series is coming to an end this week, I think. I've enjoyed reliving the vacation experience while writing the blog posts and editing photos. For today's post, we're finally entering Scotland! Now, please don't think me unintelligent, but for some reason I thought Scotland was a country on its own *hides face*. It just never registered that the United Kingdom is composed of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. While they may be one country, they all have different cultures, so to speak.
