Menstrual Cups: I made the switch, and Ask Me Anything!

I was 11 years old when I first got my period. It was in a Mr. Biggs in Port Harcourt - back in the days when Port Harcourt made sense and security was not an issue. I remember smiling to myself because my mum had started talking to us about periods, boys, relationships, etc. I quickly went to let her know and she hugged me, welcoming me into "womanhood."

Berry Lovely Links

Hi there!!!

I hope you've had a pretty week. I'm looking forward to this weekend that's going to be jampacked!!!! I need a nap already. I hope you enjoy your weekend and today's set of Lovely Links. Hugs and kisses!

  1. How early should you really get to the airport? For domestic flights, I get there 2 hours before. For international flights, I get to the airport 3 hours before. I like to roam around the airport and not feel rushed.
  2. Top Holiday Destinations You Can Visit with your US Visa
  3. This is my new favorite food Youtube channel - have you watched any of the Telande World recipe videos?
  4. For all interested, Mattie James posted How to Write an Influencer Business Plan.
  5. An old friend wrote about being Average at work. Funny enough, our department's monthly review was posted today and I felt a little sad that I didn't get a mention for anything. I think I'm slacking at work :(
  6. Lately I've felt a little bit stretched, so I'm going to follow the steps in How to Define Your Priorities.

Travel Packing Cubes Review: Bagail

Prior to my last trip to Boston, I had never used any real sort of packing system. I would usually wait until the night before my trip to hurriedly throw things into my suitcase and carry-on, hoping everything would fit and that I wouldn't have excess luggage. For my last trip though, I saw the light. My sister had bought herself some packing cubes from Amazon, and I oohed and ahhed over them so much that she bought my mum and I a set to share.

Encore Wynn Boston Harbor

Have you ever heard the saying that the hotel room doesn't matter when you travel, since all you're going to do there is sleep? Do you agree with it? I for one, DO NOT!!! I love hotels! I love nice hotels! As a matter of fact, as a child, I told my mum that I wanted to live in a hotel when I grew up. In my mind having other people do all the cleaning and cooking sounded like paradise, and who doesn't want to live in that kind of environment, right?! LOL, if only real life were like that.

Life Lessons to My Daughter

I shared this post on Instagram last week and I think it's worth sharing here too. As a mother, a lot of times, I wonder about the things I want to teach my daughter. I want her to grow up knowing what my life has been like, and hopefully learn from me.

DISCOVER GEORGIA: Cobb County International Festival

I love traveling. I enjoy attending events. I remember having so many events to attend when I lived in Nigeria - my peak blogging days. I had hoped to replicate the same thing here in Atlanta, but several factors come into play: I live a little bit far away from where a lot of events I'd like to go to are; there are a lot of weekday events and erm I have a full-time job (and a child); and sometimes I'm just plain old lazy. Occasionally, an event will cross my radar that fits well into my life, and the event I'm sharing today is the first annual Cobb County International Festival! Since this is an event in Georgia, I'm adding it to my Discover Georgia series, where I share different tourist attractions in the state of Georgia!.

Happy Friday everyone!

I hope you've had a great week and I wish you a greater weekend ahead! I shared very personal posts this week on social media, that I may share here on the blog at some point since I know some of you are social media-averse. But I hope you're all doing well, and that you enjoy the links I've got ready for your weekend reading pleasure. God bless.

Four More Things I Learned About Pregnancy

It's been a while since I was pregnant - more than two years, and earlier in the year, at a reader's request, I shared some of the things I learned during pregnancy. I wasn't sure if I would be able to come up with anything, but before long, I had a much longer post than I originally anticipated and chose to split them into two. I was also a little concerned about sharing too many mother-themed posts and decided to space them out. And so, today I'm sharing 4 more things I learned about pregnancy. See the first part here.

LIFE LATELY: July 2019

July seems like it was a very long month... and also a long time ago at the same time. I think I enjoyed July for the most part, even though Cocoa and I had health challenges. Thank God for good health o!

Berry Lovely Links

It's Friday once again.

I've had a particularly tough week, battling sickness. I tried to push through it and go to work, because bills don't pay themselves. But it caught up to me and I had to leave work very early yesterday, and eventually forced myself to go to the hospital. Apparently a viral bug is going around - someone else at work has actually been gone for 3 days. But thank God for my parents who have stepped in to watch Cocoa for me. I am truly blessed to have them. I don't know how I would have managed without them.

I have some nice links for you guys today but I also want to note that a new episode of Mommy Oyoyo podcast dropped early this week, and it centered on the Omugwo experience. Please check it out on your favorite podcast players. Have a great weekend!
