This is my 1000th blog post! Okay, not really. I passed 1000 blog posts a little bit ago, but I had to take down some already published posts for personal reasons. And so, as it stands now, THIS is my 1000th blog post. It's taken me a little bit over 6 years, and a good measure of consistency (even though I've had to take scheduled and impromptu breaks at different points). I wouldn't say I'm ecstatic and so excited about it, but I think I've done pretty well. I'm definitely past my peak period, and sometimes I think if I had stayed back in Nigeria, I would have gone much farther with the blog and as a blogger. However, I'm not looking back but looking ahead and moving ONWARD.

- I totally forgot about my less-than-stellar experience at a restaurant in Lekki. I wonder if they're still open. I also remember writing a not-great review about a resort in Lagos a couple of years later and finding out I had been blacklisted and unofficially banned.
- A potential pitfall of having your photos online are having them stolen by someone else to sell their products. After that, I started heavily watermarking my photos. I've gotten away from it since I'm not as popular anymore :p
- I'm going to go back and read my Proverbs Blog-Along aka Proverbs Bible Study.

My blog has brought me many opportunities from working with different brands like Nazuri Curls, Jord Watches, African Naturalistas, and more.
I have made friends, and lost friends. I have learned photography and some videography. I've made small money here and there. I've shared a lot about my private life, and learned to keep some things to myself. It's been a long road - and I'm glad I've made it this far. I hope to be more intentional and blog better in the future.
I love you all who have stuck with me since reading any of my blog posts. Your support means a lot to me and I pray that God blesses you very mightily!
Have a great week and cheers to another 1000 posts and more millions of views!

DeleteCongrats on your 1000th post! I can't exactly remember how I found you, maybe via your blog or ig but I was really inspired by you those many years ago. I remember seeing you at an event around 2015 or so, shortly before you travelled and reaching out to you for a picture. It was probably my first time ever reaching out to someone like that. You obliged me and I was really giddy, my friends were wondering if it was that serious 😂😂. And then I noticed your posts weren't as frequent anymore and I wondered why, but figured life happens sometimes. So glad you've got your mojo back. Cheers to better days ahead and more awesome posts. 🥂
ReplyDeleteP. S: This is probably my first time ever commenting on any of your posts but I've followed you for years and been inspired by you. Just putting it out there so you'd know that you inspire people, even though you might never know because they stay silent through it all.
Wow! Thank you so very very much Sisi Kunmi. I'm glad you reached out and if you still have the photo, send to me pretty please. Let me remember what it was like to be popular - BUAHAHAHAHA!
DeleteAnd thank you again for commenting, and truth is, a lot of time I just see myself as non-inspiring so it's nice to hear that I have been. *hugs*
Yay to the 1000th!
