Boyfriend Shirt - Naija Style

Yo yo!

I've got a Style post today, and I know the title says "Boyfriend Shirt" but technically it's Hubby's shirt. And it's not the typical Boyfriend's shirt you're used to seeing in fashion magazines. I brought it home - Naija style.

I can't remember what made me decide to try on one of Cakes' shirts one day. He wasn't at home, and maybe I felt like shopping or wearing something new, and I found myself in his section of the closet. This was the first thing that grabbed my attention, and when I put it on, it kinda made sense! All I needed to do now was try to convince him to let me wear it. I didn't really have a plan, but I waited for a random Sunday to ask him. To my surprise he said he didn't even want it anymore and I could have it for keeps! Yay me!

First up, I styled the top with my Old Navy boyfriend skinny jeans (looks like I'm all about the boyfriend, aye?), and a denim jacket. I was going for a casual look and paired it with flat white slippers.

For the second look, I opted to go for a little more playful look. I got rid of the jeans and slippers, and put on my light blue loafers which are super comfortable. I also swapped my prescription glasses for my sunglasses.

When I said 'playful' I meant it :D

I miss my straight hair sha - look at it flying with the wind.

For the final look, I went more daring and dressy. This time, I paired the top with grey heels and my Maknisy clutch.

I don't know if I could actually wear it out like that cos it's pretty short. In my younger days, mehn, the shorter the better! :p

So those are my 3 looks! Which one is your favorite? If you're a guy, do you like to see your significant other play dress up in your clothes?

  2. I love all three, but I would go for number 2. When pregnant, I wear hubby's teeshirts, shirts, jeans, natives and Jacket. Mine is so bad, I even wear his boxers and singlet when preggy. Yup his singlet becomes my inner top/ camisole. When I get to work, that's when I inform him by sending him a picture. You know me berry I am akaglue, why should I overspend on maternity wears when I will be dumping them in another 4-5mths.

  7. The 3rd look is the bomb or you could ditch the jacket in the 2nd look and still look hott. Also you could wear a pair of short shorts underneath it if it'll make you feel more 'unnaked'(lol)

  9. I like the second look and the third too. It would be too short for me to feel comfortable in it outside too- lol. But I think you could rock the third look with some leggings/tights and have the comfort while not compromising the style!

  15. Love the third look! Especially because of the heels, so gorg. You could also close up the slits, they shouldn't look so short after that :)

    1. The thing with hips/butt is if I close the slits, I may not be able to walk :p

  16. You can close the slit and add a zipper to make is weareable outside....OR wear a knee-length pencil skirt and heels.....I love the last outfit...
If none of the two ideas makes sense, then try adding a nice lace fabric below to make it longer and chic..You can sew it yourself :D

  18. I like the idea of shopping for new looks in your own closet, (or in this case hubby's closet, Lol)

All three are comfortably chic, but my favourite look is the one with the heels, you look so girly and pretty.
