I don't know why whenever I start a post, I burst into song :-|
Anyways, my loverly lovelinas, how was your weekend?! Mine was F to the A to the BULOUS!!!! Seriously! Like, I don't need to do anything for the next 2 or 3 weekends, because it was simply enough. Here's a preview
It all started on Friday mornternoon - I really can't remember what time I got the message, but it was sha daytime. Yejide of Naijanomads contacted me via Twitter, asking if I was interested in an opportunity to visit a newish resort in Lagos. I was, but then she said it was for the next day, Saturday. I'm like "Erm, short notice much?" But my original plans for Saturday were going to start kinda late in the day, so I agreed to meet up the group for the boat ride to INAGBE GRAND RESORT. If you're following me on Instagram, you already saw photos and a video.
Anyways, after work on Friday, I headed over to my friend's house as she was hosting a girls night with dinner prepared by cheflebrities, CHEF FREGZ and CHEF ALEX! I called them the Most Eligible Bachelor Chefs, and one of them [sadly] said he isn't eligible. Awww, lots of broken hearts across Nigeria right now. Anyway, Fregz did most of the cooking and Alex made the breads and dessert.
All I can tell you is that I was full out of mind and body by the third or fourth course. We had 8 in total! I mean, I felt so wrong in my tummy, but the food felt so right on my tongue!
Funny story about the dessert. We weren't sure what was coming, but I knew I was definitely going to eat it - because you ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS have room for dessert, NO MATTER WHAT! Anyways, while we wondered what dessert would be, I asked if it's possible to eat Bread and Ice Cream together - my friends laughed at me and said I was way too random... and then guess what was served for dessert! FRENCH TOAST AND ICE CREAM!!! *victory dances to "My Chick Bad"*
So that was Friday. I felt like I wouldn't eat for another 2 months! Alas, on Saturday, I had to wake up earlyish and get ready for our excursion to Inagbe Grand Resorts, to hear about their new EXPLORER LOYALTY CARD PROGRAM. There'll be a post later this week on that. First of all, Cakes had been working from 5am on Friday night up until Saturday morning to deliver these 9 huge cakes - trust me, they were huge! One car could carry just 5 cakes, and the other one carried 4.
Before dropping off the cakes, he took me to the jetty in Ikoyi, where I met up with Yejide and Bisoye. Unfortunately the boat came waaaaay later than expected, but that gave us time to talk and get to know each other better.
The boat eventually came and 15 minutes later, we arrived our destination. Yup, it's that quick but you feel soooo removed from Lagos wahala!
We had a fun time exploring, and like I said, I'll have a post later this week to get you more familiar with the resort and their Explorer Loyalty program.
When I got back to Lagos, Cakes and I headed over to the Locs Appreciation Day event, put together by Locitude.
We could stay only a short time, but I got to see lovely long locs, and Ade demonstrated 3 easy styles she creates without any tools whatsoever!
At this point my camera died, so please manage the few photos from my phone.
A closer (but still blurry) look at the 3rd style she created. |

On Sunday, I was supposed to go to the Beauty In Lagos Beauty Party. As in, I actually drove out of the house and was halfway there, and then turned around and went home. I was really really tired, had a migraine that refused to leave, it was raining, and freaking fuel traffic from my side of Lekki!!! I drove back home with my made up face and stayed in bed.
From the photos I saw on Instagram, it was a great event and kudos to her! You can find ANYTHING Lagos and Beauty related on her blog.
So a FUN weekend was had by moi, right? I have your blessings to have boring weekends for the next 2 or 3 weeks so I can rest, right? Thanks in advance!
