WARNING: If you are hungry, go and get something to eat BEFORE reading this post. If you don't, you can't blame me for whatever happens to your tummy :)
One of the things I planned for this year was to have a quarterly brunch outing with my sister and cousins. At this point in our lives, everyone's busy with families, growing families, careers and more, so it can get difficult to really catch up with one another. It's not as if we don't see or even chat regularly on Whatsapp. But I also wanted for us to be able to get away from the husbands and children and just be girls (or women). It's nice to "escape" for an hour or two, innit?
For this outing, we stayed close to home and went to Henry's Louisiana Grill.

Japanese Hibachi Dinner at Shogun
Two weeks ago, Uncle Cakes turned 70, and to celebrate, the family decided to head to Shogun Restaurant. It is a Japanese restaurant not too far from home, and they have different offerings from sushi to hibachi grill food. Cakes had never been to a Hibachi restaurant before, so I thought it would be a nice treat for him.
FUN FACT: My sister and her hubby got engaged one night after having dinner there. I think.

Gourmet Puffs a la Cakes!
We all know cooking and baking are NOT my forte. But we also know that I like food. In this foodie love, every now and then I try to come up with different recipes or different ways to eat regular foods. That's how I was dreaming about fried dough one day, and it occurred to me that puff puff is fried dough! And if we can have fried dough with powdered sugar, why can't we have puff puff with powdered sugar as well?! DING DING DING! I asked Cakes if he wouldn't mind making some for a small meetup, and decided to try another topping as well. I actually have a whole list of different toppings we will be experimenting with. So Atlanta people, or people that have Atlanta people, WE HAVE GOURMET PUFFS O!!!!!!!!!!!! I've told you now.
Without further ado, here are a few photos of the extremely yummy gourmet puffs we had, and will be offering as well :)

Brunch at The Public House
Brunches in Atlanta seem to the be THE THING to do on weekends. Titi, who I went to brunch with, has a list of some of her favorite brunch spots in Atlanta. I haven't been a big bruncher, but what I do like about going is the perfect combination of breakfast and lunch items. That and the boozy cocktails, which to be honest are perfect at any time of day(minus mimosas, which I don't like at all). Anyways, this time around I met up with another friend, who blogs here.

Eating Your Meat First, Last or During Your Meal
As I write this, today is January 25th. It is 9:13pm. I am catching up on blogs via Bloglovin (follow me here, let me know and I'll follow back), while watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills - that's one of my guilty pleasures. Anyways, Cakes is chowing down on a plate of pounded yam with okro soup that he made earlier today - (yes, yes, lucky girl, cooking husband, uh huh, praise God).

Berry Thanksgiving Weekend
One of the best things about the Thanksgiving Holiday is the food! Yes, I said it. The food makes me happy thinking about it... although a few days later, I'm lamenting about the amount of weight that comes with so much eating. In our family, a lot of activities are centered around food. Have I ever told you that most Sundays, after church, we have lunch together? My sister, her hubby and kids come over and we all "break bread" together. Everyone (myself included) helps out in one way or another - either by prepping the ingredients, cooking, setting the table, clearing up or doing the dishes.

The Nigerian Food Fusion Tour Weekend
I love food. I enjoy food. I'm very picky and don't eat a lot of things, but the things I do eat, I really enjoy. I like to joke that one of the reasons why I liked Cakes instantly is because he told me he was a baker. Even he will tell anyone that there's this joy and happiness that makes my whole body tingle when I'm eating something I really like.

Radisson Blu Lagos Weekend
AM I IN NIGERIA?!?!?!?!?!! And I didn't tell anybody?!?!?!?!?!? The answer is no. These are old photos from when I hung out with my friend Feyfey. I actually met her through blogging, and you might remember her from this post. Anyways, some time this year before this happened, we met up to have drinks, food and just talk about life in general. She's such a sweetheart, and I'm really thankful for her (and others) who I've met through blogging.

Visiting Washington DC Weekend - Part 1
Hey y'all,
How was your weekend? Mine was good but very very tiring. The fact that I have this post up means that I love you guys, and I wanted something for you to read - because all I want to do is SLEEP! If you saw my Snapchat story over the weekend, you know that we barely got any sleep between Friday night and Sunday morning. In fact, we slept for 3 hours on Saturday night after my friend's wedding as we had to be out of the hotel by 4:30am to catch our early flight back to Atlanta. I'm going to break up this post into 2 parts because I have too many photos... what else is new?

Berry Brunch Weekend
Hi there darlns!
How was your weekend? I hope you had a good one - hopefully got to rest and relax. I wish I had spent more time relaxing, but I had a good weekend. I ate waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much! I don't know what it is about weekends that make you feel like you can eat whatever you want. On Saturday, at my sister's BBQ I ate so much that I felt too full... and then had TWO helpings of cake and ice cream! I need to stop - somebody help me!

Labor Day Weekend
Hey everyone,
Is it me or has anyone else noticed the subtle changes that new seasons bring? On my way to work this week, I've noticed the morning air is a bit crispy and lovely, just the way I like it. Fall officially starts on the 22nd of this month, and people begin to wind down summer during Labor Day weekend, which was this past weekend. Anyone who follows me on Instagram and Snapchat was treated to a whole weekend of fun, from the wedding our family attended to my sister's birthday dinner.

Weekend Post?
Hi there!
In my post where I listed some of the things I miss most about Nigeria, I mentioned that I missed going to little events on weekends and posting them on Mondays here on the blog. Mondays used to be the biggest traffic draws on my blog, and I was quite concerned that moving to Atlanta would indirectly cause a drop in my blog traffic since I wouldn't be attending as many events anymore. It's not like I don't go out at all, but it certainly is not as frequent as before. This weekend was different though. It was my mum's birthday on Saturday and we had a whole weekend of fun!!!

Praise Report!!!
I just want to use this opportunity to thank God for opportunities that have come my way through my blog. When I started blogging, it was strictly to allow my friends and family to follow me along on my NYSC year. If you've never read that blog, The Ajebutter's Guide to NYSC was a funny and real look into my experiences so definitely check it out.
I found my love for blogging there and I can remember starting this blog. When I would get more than 50 views a day I was ecstatic! I just wanted to share my life in a real, authentic, and often times funny way. Today I'm getting close to 1 million views total and the amount of opportunities that have come to me, and even Cakes, via the blog has been amazing. I can't thank God enough for His blessings and those he has used.

Our UK Family Holiday Part 3 - Afternoon Tea
Hey there!
How was your weekend? I hope you had a fun one. Happy Father's Day to all the men out there who are touching lives and leading by example! We celebrated my dad, brother-in-law and Cakes by taking them out to brunch. How did you celebrate?
Today I'm continuing with our UK holiday, and this time I'm sharing photos from our fun-filled day at Afternoon Tea. If you haven't been following, check out Part 1 - Trafalgar Square, and Part 2 - Marble Arch. As usual, I'll share some stories in between and a little bit of history and fun anecdotes. Let's get started shall we?

REVIEW: Hard Rock Cafe Lagos
This mini review of Hard Rock Cafe Lagos is overdue. My friends and I had a Girls Night Out just before Valentine's Day. We went to Muson Center to watch a concert first - they started quite late, so we had to leave early. We had made reservations at Hard Rock Cafe and we were quite hungry. Prior to this, I had never been to any Hard Rock Cafe location. I guess I was just never really interested.
Hard Rock Cafe Lagos opened late last year, December I think. It has quickly become one of the IT spots - you go there to "see and be seen" from what I gather. We chose outside seating, which was pretty cool. There were tents and lounge chairs (not beds o - some people were really lying down like they were in their bedrooms). Inside, it was pretty loud and there were loads of people! I like the bar feeling/setting of the restaurant.
I can't remember what I ordered to drink, but it probably will not pass Chapman.
My friends had been there before, and order the suya chicken and chicken wings as appetizers. The suya chicken was very nice!
I wasn't a fan of the chicken wings though.
I ordered the fish and chips dish, which I must say was AMAZING!!! The fish was so crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside that it melted in my mouth.
Have you been to any Hard Rock Cafes around the world? What was your experience like?

Travel to Pensacola, Florida
Hiiiiiiiiii,
I didn't mean to be gone so long *hides face* but we've been traveling like I mentioned, so it's been hard to sit down and blog. This is why you should plan ahead and IMPLEMENT!
About 10 days ago, my family and I went on a road trip from Atlanta to Mobile, Alabama for my sister's graduation. It was a 5.5 hour drive and we had a lot of fun on the road. My niece and nephew kept us laughing the whole time with their cuteness overload. We got to Mobile in good time, went out for Cinco de Mayo (a Mexican holiday), and went to bed feeling exhausted.

BERRY CHOPS: Sardine French Toast
Yo!
This post is looooooooooooooooong overdue. It's just been sitting somewhere, waiting to get posted. I think that my favorite kinda food to make is breakfast food, because it doesn't take as long as making lunch or dinner... I think. Funny enough, I don't mind spending 30 minutes making breakfast. But making lunch/dinner needs to be made in a shorter amount of time if I'm the one in the kitchen. Weird, right?
Anyways, today I'm sharing my very simple recipe for Sardine French Toast.

REVIEW - R.S.V.P.
Hiya!
Today I'm reviewing R.S.V.P. restaurant, right here in Lagos. We celebrated Valentine's Day early, since Cakes is too busy on Valentine's Day making sure that lots of cake orders are delivered. Call 08094263869 to order your cakes and cupcakes, by the way. I will probably end up doing like last year and getting pizza for myself as I'll be home alone. Anyways, our early Valentine was sponsored by Ofadaa.com and you can check out their directory and reviews of restaurants in Lagos and other cities across Nigeria.

Berry and Cakes' Early Valentine's at R.S.V.P.
Happy Valentine's Day!!!!
Okay, I know I'm early but since Cakes' business (owning a bakery) means he's extremely busy on Valentine's Day, we never get to have a proper celebration. This year though, courtesy of Ofadaa.Com, we were able to get an early start. For our anniversary, we went to Sky Restaurant in Eko Hotels and Suites. This time around, instead of asking friends and breaking my head about where to go, I decided to check on Ofadaa's website. We eventually decided to go to RSVP.
