Cruise Vacation - Nassau Bahamas

Hey there!

How are ya? And how was your weekend? I hope it was great. Mine was sooooooo unexpected, but I won't address it here. From today, for the next few posts, I want to share about my family cruise vacation to the Caribbean in September. We traveled on Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas, for a 7-night cruise. We had 4 stops in total, visiting the Bahamas, Mexico and Honduras. It was a very memorable trip, and today I'm going to share a few short stories and some photos.

Unfortunately, I didn't get as many photos (and videos) as I thought I would. But the few ones I have, I'm very happy to share.

Berry Thanksgiving Weekend

One of the best things about the Thanksgiving Holiday is the food! Yes, I said it. The food makes me happy thinking about it... although a few days later, I'm lamenting about the amount of weight that comes with so much eating. In our family, a lot of activities are centered around food. Have I ever told you that most Sundays, after church, we have lunch together? My sister, her hubby and kids come over and we all "break bread" together. Everyone (myself included) helps out in one way or another - either by prepping the ingredients, cooking, setting the table, clearing up or doing the dishes.

Trip Advisor Vacation Rentals

It's been 2 months since my family visited the UK. In my multi-part UK series posts, you saw England and Scotland through my eyes. One part of the trip I haven't yet posted on was our accommodation/vacation rentals.

Our UK Family Holiday - Part 6 - Hello Scotland!!!

Hey everyone!

I know most of us have been or are in holiday mode, and I hope you're all enjoying yourselves. The UK Holiday series is coming to an end this week, I think. I've enjoyed reliving the vacation experience while writing the blog posts and editing photos. For today's post, we're finally entering Scotland! Now, please don't think me unintelligent, but for some reason I thought Scotland was a country on its own *hides face*. It just never registered that the United Kingdom is composed of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. While they may be one country, they all have different cultures, so to speak.

Our UK Family Holiday - Part 5 - Girls Day Out

Let's get right into the next part of my family's UK Holiday series, shall we?

Remember in my Travel Tips for Large Groups, I mentioned that you should schedule personal/alone time? On the Sunday while we were in England, we were all free to do anything we wanted. I decided to meet up with an old friend from secondary school (she blogs here), and a new friend from blogging (she blogs here).

We met up near here, which I've already blogged about.

Our UK Family Holiday - Part 4 - Buckingham Palace and London Eye

Guys!!!

I'm on a hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh!!! Game of Thrones is the best show in the history of television!!! The finale was all kinds of awesomeness!!! I'm going to be smiling for the next week... until I remember we have to wait until April for season 7 :(

Anyways, I'm continuing with the Brexit UK holiday snaps and history lessons today. On this particular day, I went to visit my Aunty Lili... her and my grandfather go waaaaay back... before she became the Queen of England. You know I have famous family members and friends, right? But just so I don't get kidnapped, I always keep a low profile. It's only you, my faithful readers, that really know what's up.

Our UK Family Holiday Part 3 - Afternoon Tea

Hey there!

How was your weekend? I hope you had a fun one. Happy Father's Day to all the men out there who are touching lives and leading by example! We celebrated my dad, brother-in-law and Cakes by taking them out to brunch. How did you celebrate?

Today I'm continuing with our UK holiday, and this time I'm sharing photos from our fun-filled day at Afternoon Tea. If you haven't been following, check out Part 1 - Trafalgar Square, and Part 2 - Marble Arch. As usual, I'll share some stories in between and a little bit of history and fun anecdotes. Let's get started shall we?

Our UK Family Holiday Part 2 - Marble Arch

Hiya!

In my last post, I shared photos from my family's first full day in England. We ended up at Trafalgar Square and enjoyed some street performers. We actually went down to Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Street, but didn't take any photos. I was in charge of the holiday calendar in London, and I made sure to include personal days. Check out my post on Travel Tips for Large Groups.

Our UK Holiday Part 1 - Trafalgar Square

Hello me dahlings!

I'm seriously trying to get back into the groove of my regular blog posts. While we were in the UK, my blogging schedule kinda suffered. Between all the traveling, sightseeing, and getting sick, I just couldn't post as much as I wanted to. And even after coming back, the zeal to edit the photos and videos was severely lacking. No joke, I have over 2300 photos from our time in England and Scotland! Since they are so many, I will break up the posts into different parts, and I hope you enjoy all of them.

Travel to Pensacola, Florida

Hiiiiiiiiii,

I didn't mean to be gone so long *hides face* but we've been traveling like I mentioned, so it's been hard to sit down and blog. This is why you should plan ahead and IMPLEMENT!

About 10 days ago, my family and I went on a road trip from Atlanta to Mobile, Alabama for my sister's graduation. It was a 5.5 hour drive and we had a lot of fun on the road. My niece and nephew kept us laughing the whole time with their cuteness overload. We got to Mobile in good time, went out for Cinco de Mayo (a Mexican holiday), and went to bed feeling exhausted.

Berry Away Weekend

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey,

How are you my darling?! How was your weekend? What do you have planned for the week?

At this exact moment, I'm sitting in the living room, Cakes is on the floor watching CNN (aka the bringer of news, most of which is bad), and we're both wearing hoodies and socks because...

Berry Dakara x Naija Nomads take INAGBE GRAND RESORT

FIRST OF ALL, INTRODUCTION!

NAIJANOMADS: So my travel writer buddy, Demola Ojo, buzzed me last Friday around noon inviting me on an all expense paid trip to INAGBE GRAND RESORT alongside travel bloggers and journalists. The resort is launching a new product called “THE EXPLORE CARD” and we were scheduled to leave at 2.30pm and spend the night there. I was just like, “Dude, I have a husband and a day job, I really can’t up and leave for some resort on such short notice.” He kindly arranged another trip for the next day and I was to help him recruit travel and lifestyle bloggers.  I bet when I sent Berry that message on Friday afternoon she must have thought “How last minute can Nigerians be???”

BERRY DAKARA: Lastminute.com much?!?! When I got the message on Twitter on Friday afternoon, I was like “YES! Woot woot, what’s the date so I can plan my calendar for July?” Then the bomb drops: “The excursion is TOMORROW MORNING!” Let me not lie, I almost did the GbogboBigz Girls act like, “Oh, so am I now a desperado that doesn’t have things to do?” But my Saturday plans were for evening, so I was 100% on board!

I went to the dentist - who goes to the dentist on their birthday?!?!?!? NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! And then in the evening, my sister was very sweet to order dinner at her house, and we got some yummy cupcakes too :)

Berry Easter Weekend Part 1 - Gidi Culture Festival

Hey hey hey!!!

How are yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa? I feel like it's been ages! Has it been ages, or is it the long holiday that has me feeling this way? How's your Easter weekend been, and how's it going? It's still not over for me, but I couldn't wait to start sharing photos from the weekend. This Easter, Cakes and I have stayed in Nigeria, unlike our trip to Benin Republic last year. Lagos is full of activity, and I had to choose only a few things so that I wouldn't get overwhelmed. Our first activity of the Easter weekend - GIDI CULTURE FESTIVAL.

BLACK & GOLD EVENTS: COUPLES WEEKEND ESCAPE

Hiya!

If you don't know that Valentine's Day is around the corner, then you must be living under a rock. A very big one. Not the diamond kind of rock either - although now's a good time for diamonds :p If you've been reading this blog for a little while, it shouldn't be a surprise to you that Valentine's Day is one of my favorite "holidays." In fact, left to me, it should be an actual holiday. But it's on a Saturday this year, thankfully, and BLACK & GOLD EVENTS is offering several packages to couples every single weekend in February and March.

Their romantic weekend getaway packages include stays in Lagos or Calabar; African escapes to Accra, Zanzibar or Cape Town (which are on my Travel List); or intercontinental rendezvous in London or Dubai!

Picture this: you, your lover, champagne, massages, gifts, romantic dinners, cooped up in a luxurious hotel room/resort for the weekend. You can even go on a mini tour of whichever city you choose - or decide not to leave your hotel room, for erm, BAKING delights *wink*

If you haven't made plans for Valentine's Day, this is a quick and easy solution to get your romance on! Check out one of their many sample packages below...

*SAMPLE PLATINUM PACKAGE*
Executive Chauffeur Pick up and Drop off in Airport.
Trip to exclusive resort in Dubai, Zanzibar, Cape Town OR London, UK.
Champagne, Chocolates & Bouquet of Roses on arrival.
Luxury Valentine’s gift hamper for couple.
     Invigorating Spa Session for two.
Manicure & Pedicure session for two.
     Makeover session for the lady.

Oooh, and guess what? The first 3 couples that make a reservation will get a COMPLIMENTARY BOUDOIR photo shoot with BLACK & GOLD BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY. Doing a tasteful, sultry photo shoot is something that I put on my 30 List - don't worry, after I lose this weight, Cakes might be getting a sexy present (hides face).

How to NOT Spend all your Money this Christmas

Hey everyone,

Christmas is almost here, and if you have eyes and/or ears, you've noticed all the retailers, businesses, and promoters around trying to lure and seduce you into buying one or twenty things. SALES SALES SALES, they call out. DISCOUNTS, they cry out. YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME-EVENT, they scream. If you're anything like me, you're very highly tempted and have drummed up a long list of things you want to scoop up. But guess what happens if you buy everything you want [without having a busload of money to back it up] - you get broke! So I thought I should come to your rescue and help you save some money this holiday season.

Berry Peachy Weekend

Hey people,

Yup, I'm still at home in Atlanta - hence, the PEACHY (Georgia's official state fruit is the Peach). This weekend was quite busy. I feel like I should be doing a lot of sleeping during this trip, but my body clock is bonkers!!! I'm sleeping waaaaaaaay late and waking up very early for no blawdy reason. I just don't get it. Oh well. I had a full weekend and right now I'm exhausted out of my mind. But so I don't get scolded for not posting, here's my weekend post ON TIME!!!

O Christmas Tree - Atlantic Station

During my last weekend post, I mentioned that on Thanksgiving weekend, my family and I went to Atlantic Station, a fun place in Atlanta with restaurants, shops, a movie theater, among other seasonal attractions. Because it's the holiday season, there's an ice skating rink and a huge Christmas tree, which of course I had to take pictures in front of :D

It's Beginning to look A Lot Like Christmas!

Hi guys,

I'm in quite a happy mood right now, because my other favorite time of the year (besides my birthday) is Christmas time!!! Read my It's December post from last year. Yup, I really enjoy this time of year :)

I love listening to Christmas music (Carol of the Bells is one of my favorite carol, and then 12 Drunken Days of Christmas), seeing Christmas decorations (the tree and putting up pretty ornaments is something I look forward to), watching Christmas-themed movies (my favorite is Love Actually) and so on.

Specific things I'm loving this Christmas though, are:
