Brunch at Henry's Louisiana

WARNING: If you are hungry, go and get something to eat BEFORE reading this post. If you don't, you can't blame me for whatever happens to your tummy :)

One of the things I planned for this year was to have a quarterly brunch outing with my sister and cousins. At this point in our lives, everyone's busy with families, growing families, careers and more, so it can get difficult to really catch up with one another. It's not as if we don't see or even chat regularly on Whatsapp. But I also wanted for us to be able to get away from the husbands and children and just be girls (or women). It's nice to "escape" for an hour or two, innit?

For this outing, we stayed close to home and went to Henry's Louisiana Grill.

Let me be perfectly honest. I mostly wanted to go there because of the beignets. Beignets are a fried dough covered in powdered sugar (kinda what I was going for with the Gourmet Puffs). Sadly, there was waaaaaaaaaay too much sugar on these beignets so I didn't enjoy them as much as I thought.

There are no photos of me because these two madams (who I traveled with here and here) got dressed up, wearing makeup and heels. Me, I just went in slippers and a random dress.

BEIGNETS!!!

My sister and I got the same dish, but I asked for my eggs without cheese and their creamy sauce. I'm very picky and tend not to like creamy/milky foods. My cousin ordered the Boudin balls, but she didn't like them and I loved them, so I ended up eating most of them myself. Lucky for her, she ordered another dish, which she was happy with.

Who's hungry?!?!?!?

I'm not sure when our next brunch is - at this rate, we might have to skip Q2, and plan for Q3. Anyways, we had fun and it was nice catching up in person and without distractions :)

BTW I'm trying to decide what video to post next - one with my grandpa or one I made about the things I miss about Nigeria. Lemme know what you think!
