STYLE POST: Lace Separates

Whenever I have fabric to make an outfit for a wedding (asoebi style), or some other event, I typically like to make separates that I can pair together or with other items from my closet. For me, that gives me the best bang for my buck! As much as I would like to have tons of money to go shopping, I simply don't and I have responsibilities at home. Therefore, any way I can stretch my money (N or $), sounds good to me.

You already saw a version of this with my Vlisco fabric post from here. I actually used one of those items to pair with my lace as you'll see today.

The lace material was bought for aso ebi for my cousin's wedding - which I blogged about here. Remember I drove from Atlanta to Boston for the wedding? I bought the fabric from Aliexpress abi Alibaba... one of them sha, and it came in 6 yards. I decided to make a top, skirt, dress (which I haven't worn yet), and also I added a little bit to my Vlisco top.

As you can see, making separates is like the gift that keeps on giving. I can wear the skirt with a button down shirt for a sleek look, and I can pair the top with skinny jeans for a simple but slightly dressed up look. As I find more ways to wear my lace separates, I'll definitely update you.

Look 1: Lace top and skirt to match - from my Joyful Wedding weekend post.

Look 2: Lace skirt with green top - from my Christmas Tree weekend post

Look 3: Lace top with my Vlisco maxi skirt - from my weekend post that should have gone up when I started feeling mega stressed out. BTW, this was the first time I wore my Straight Nazuri Curls Clip-ins. Remember you get a 10% discount when you use the code: BERRYDAKARA at checkout.

I think the third look would have been better with a red skinny belt. Oh well!

Which look is your favorite? Mine's the first one.

    1. Hahahaha. I guess I'm a bit lucky I don't have anyone to share my material with. Actually I take that back. I had some ankara that Cakes insisted on using for something.

    1. I want to say thanks for the second part of your comment and try to be more tactful to the first part. You could easily have said, "I don't like the hair much" or "the hair is not my style." That way it doesn't feel like you're slapping someone and kissing them at the same time.

    1. Hi, thanks. I don't really shop online here. I only bought this lace because my cousin chose it for her wedding and she sent us the link.
