Weekend Post?

Hi there!

In my post where I listed some of the things I miss most about Nigeria, I mentioned that I missed going to little events on weekends and posting them on Mondays here on the blog. Mondays used to be the biggest traffic draws on my blog, and I was quite concerned that moving to Atlanta would indirectly cause a drop in my blog traffic since I wouldn't be attending as many events anymore. It's not like I don't go out at all, but it certainly is not as frequent as before. This weekend was different though. It was my mum's birthday on Saturday and we had a whole weekend of fun!!!

First of all, Cakes is back on this end. He got in late last week, just in time for our weekend celebrations. My Snapchat and Instagram stories were pretty active from Friday up until Sunday (please follow me on Social Media - @BerryDakara). We headed to Marietta Square, about 15/20 minutes away from home. I really want to do a Discover Georgia post on Marietta Square because it's very pretty and quaint, with all kinds of stores, restaurants and galleries around. They also have concerts on the last Friday of every month and since it tied in with my mum's birthday, we decided to go. WE HAD FUN!!!

I really like this dress. I got it for just $7 from H&M!

It's been a while since I've had a nice jump shot!

The next concert is a band singing Motown hits and we're definitely heading there again. Hmm, any Atlantans wanna come with? Let me know!

On Saturday we went swimming with the kids and were so tired afterwards, that Cakes and I crashed for an hour and a half. It took me 30 minutes to finally wake up - I was that exhausted.

Later that evening we went to dinner at Bahama Breeze and the food was delicious as always. Bahama Breeze is one of my favorite restaurants where my girls and I go to have appetizers and desserts just because :)

This Ultimate Pineapple drink was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had chicken wings, beef empanadas (aka meatpie) and coconut shrimp for appetizers.

For our entrees, Cakes and I shared the Seafood Paella and the Trinidad Chicken Curry with Naan Bread. SO YUMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

It was a fun weekend - the start of a stretch of weekend celebrations as all my siblings were born in September. This coming weekend, we'll all be together again and I can't wait!

  1. Awwww, nice.
Its really cool that all your siblings + your mum were born in september, was it planned?
I love Bahama Breeze, I went to the one in Orlando once and our waiter was soooo sweet. I have pleasant memories of our experience there, our drink was delicious and there was nice island music. I know I started an Orlando series on my Blog but the post on Bahama Breeze never made it up (N) oh well!!

    1. BAHAMA BREEZE is the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always enjoy their food but my favorite item on their menu is the Pineapple Upside Down Chocolate Cake!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

LOL @ all of them being planned - I dunno for them o. The good thing is I get the first half of the year to myself (well, now my niece, nephew and Cakes have joined me). The "bad" side is I have to buy 5 presents within a few weeks!

  2. Your IG Story was full. Saw bits and pieces. Glad you had a great time! It was a bank holiday on Monday so it was pretty chilled at our end and we finally squeezed in a mini picnic! That jump photo with your nephew looking on is so cool!

    1. Too full! That's why my sister says I do too much sometimes. Ah well. A mini picnic sounds like fun! We have a holiday next week, so yay! I can't decide whether to stay indoors or find something to do.

      Thanks!
