Hi errbawdy!
I trust y'all had a good weekend. We did too. We had planned a busy weekend but spent most of it ultimately indoors. Friday and Sunday were particularly quiet with nothing to report. But Saturday... a whole 'nother story that I'm about to divulge below.
It was a rainy day, preceded by a rainy night. The wind howled, the heavens poured and a married couple somewhere in Lagos, Nigeria had to wake up early and set about the day's adventures. The wife was not very happy as she detests waking up early on weekends and grumbled with a scowl on her face. Alas, she played the dutiful and submissive wife, following her husband on his sojourn of the day. They drove to the tailor to get her measured, and stopped by the bakery to finish up a cake, which they promptly delivered at an aunt's house. The wife mentioned how she'd been a little under the weather for a bit over a week, prompting the aunt to exclaim somewhat anxiously and excitedly, "Gasp! Are you pregnant?!" The wife chuckled, used to this line of questioning and shook her head. When the couple left their aunt's house, it appeared that the whole of Lagos converged on one road - the traffic situation, so much to bear. The wife slipped into a deep slumber and upon reaching the second-to-the-last destination, her husband gazed at her lovingly, tapped her awake and said, "You have been snoring... a lot." Two errands were run and the couple dashed off to their humble abode, tired from the day's activities. But first...
They decided to cook!
They decided to cook!
I'd been craving banana bread since forever and Cakes was not forthcoming, and so I decided to make it myself. I got an easy recipe here and baked this lovely Nutella-swirled Banana Bread.
From Top Left, go anti clockwise and voila! |
I need a good camera :( |
Yummy! Note to friends: DO NOT use Soybean oil!!! I don't know what I was thinking in buying it - it doesn't smell pretty :( |
Of course I always wear heels in the kitchen. And short shorts too ;-) |
Berry Bakes and Cakes Cooks :) |

ReplyDeleteHehe, YES WE DO! Thanks!
DeleteI love the aprons! will definitely get Mr Aye nd moi a pair.
ReplyDeleteThanks. You should. They're fun.
DeleteBerry and Cakes for PRESIDENT!!! ...sooo much fun in the building :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. please what do you say to a guy that thinks he's doing a great favor by sometimes helping out in the kitchen because according to him, "conventionally, men do not to cook"
Haha.
DeleteI don't know about you, but I would say to him, "Welcome to my world of UNCONVENTIONALITY, you're in for a wild ride! If you can't handle it, please step off onto the boring pavement." OR "How fun! Conventionally, women DO NOT pay for dinner, contribute to the household bills, etc etc etc."
Ahhh! I love banana bread! I had it for the first time about a month ago and I have been hooked since then. The crazy thing is I don't eat bananas (they make me gag) yet I love banana bread. Weirdo lol
ReplyDeleteAnd those aprons are super cute:)
This is the weirdest thing to me cos I've always eaten banana bread. My mum used to bake it when we were little. It's actually weirder to me that you had never had banana bread, than your not eating bananas. Lol.
DeleteThanks :)
Lol, what can I say except I'd been missing out o. If not for my sister deciding to make it and encouraging me to try it I would have probably gone for life without eating it.
DeleteBerry, I soooooooo love you. I always look forward to your new posts. You had fun. Errrmmm, but one thing, I don't think I have the 'liver' to wear heels in the kitchen. Make I nor go fall. Hehehe!
ReplyDeleteAwww, thank you. LOL, it's easy! Just make sure you're cooking or baking something light and easy.
DeleteHah! I noticed the heels and then I read your comment about always wearing heels in the kitchen. Anywhooo, I see something terribly wrong with the rest of the outfit. Shouldn't it have been just the apron sans shorts and top? ;) Biko, I am only asking....hahaha.
ReplyDeleteLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL, you're a deezaztah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteThose pictures are not for public consumption :p
Aww! Too cute!

The shoes are painful as heck - I bought the wrong size :( If your feet are smaller, I can part with them for a small price.
DeleteHeels in the kitchen, abi. Dey deceive yourself there.
