Bloggirls aka Power Puff Girls Day In!

Sooo, the other day, I invited my girls, Fash (style blogger) and Bex (who Coox and Luvs2dress) over to my humble abode for a Girls Breakfast. I hadn't seen them since my wedding day, and I wanted them to see the little corner that Cakes and I call home. I decided to make it a breakfast date, mostly because Cakes had a wedding cake to deliver, as well as attend. Once the date and time were set, we came up with a menu, and we were all set!

Our Menu
Baked Beans
Bacon and Mushroom Omelet
Sausages (P.S. NEVER EVER get chicken sausages from Shoprite!!! They were so dry)
Freshly baked Bread

Fruit juice
Baileys (for coffee or whatever)

The day of, I woke up trĂ©s early to make sure the whole house was tidy, smelled pretty, and to get the ingredients ready. Unbeknownst to me, these females were still sound asleep, so I could have stayed in bed for another hour or two. However, it was a good thing I woke up early, because it turned out that I needed to have a serious conversation with Cakes about MY KITCHEN and how I need things cleaned and stacked in particular manners. He was at the bakery, and was too busy to listen to me, and all he said was, "Ok." Let's just say that I spent 30 minutes sulking and rewashing my our Food Chopper thingy (which is a gift from God Himself).

Afterwards, I still had time on my hands, so I decided to wash my hair and vigorously scrub my body a la my hammam experience. 3 hours after I had woken up, these bloggirls were still nowhere to be found. Long story short, Fash arrived at noon, and Bex strolled in 20/30 minutes later. At this point, we were all so hungry BUT we like to gist, and we all know that gist supercedes food, right? Bex had yummy coconut cupcakes anyways, so we were able to wait longer.

Fash is soooooooooooo vain!!! Lol, okay, I'm lying.

Yay, MY yellow utensils in MY kitchen!!!

*All pictures shamelessly borrowed from Stylefash's post of the same hang out.*

We eventually got to eat at about 1:30 or so, so our breakfast-became-brunch-became-lunch. We carried on with our stories, even when Cakes came home and flew into the bedroom to crash (he had woken up at 4am to head to the bakery and complete a wedding cake). We had a fun FUN time, and I can't wait to see them again - not sure what our next hangout will be, but we typically like to relax and have fun. Some of our past outings are here, herehere and here.

This is the cake he made. The bride loved it :)

Do you know that in the middle of all the gisting, I completely forgot to give the girls a tour of my apartment?! I'll probably do a separate post on that, one of these days. Oh, I forgot to mention that Bex forgot to bring the bacon, and I decided I didn't want to make an omelet anymore.
