Berry and Cakes' Kitchen Conversations

This is what some of our kitchen exchanges look like, so far...

Berry gets home from work, walks in the door, not sure if Cakes has come home from the bakery... (whoever gets home first makes dinner)

Berry: *sniffs* Ahhhhh, YAY, my husband is home and has made dinner
Cakes: Hey baby.
Berry: *muah* Thanks for making dinner
Cakes: You're welcome. I love you.
Berry: I love you too. You're such a wonderful husband.

We sit down and eat, catching up on each other's day.Afterwards, Berry goes to wash the dishes, since Cakes did the cooking...

Berry: Hmm, the frying pan is a little burnt. Cakes, did you burn my frying pan?!
Cakes: That's how the frying pan is.
Berry: How can?! Geez!
Berry's conscience: But you wanted a husband that can cook.
Berry: FINE!

At night...
Berry: Cakes, please can you help me pack up the rest of the stew?
Cakes: Alright babe.
Berry: Thanks. I love you.
Cakes: You're welcome. I love you too.

In the morning, Berry goes to pack a lunch bag...
Berry: Geez! Cakes, how come you put the stew in the freezer?!
Cakes: You wanted me to pack it up.
Berry: Yeah, but not in the freezer.
Cakes: You didn't say where.
Berry's conscience: Yup, you didn't say where.
Berry: FINE!

Later that day, Berry gets home first and makes dinner, so Cakes does the dishes. The next morning...
Berry: Cakes, where's my kitchen towel?
Cakes: I hung it by the window so it could dry faster,
Berry: No, no no! It's supposed to be by the sink.
Berry's conscience: It WILL dry faster that way, by the window.
Berry: *rolls eyes* FINE!!!

Some random time...
Berry: Cakes, how come my mug is washed and on the dish rack?
Cakes: I used it, why?
Berry: Noooooooooo. You can use all the other mugs but this one is mine!
Cakes: Aren't you my wife? We can share things
Berry: Enh, some things. Not my mug.
Cakes: You know what? I'll just leave the kitchen for you, since you like things a certain way!
Berry: ENH?!?!? If you like, try to dodge entering MY kitchen, I'll just jump on you.
Berry's conscience: But, you do complain about everything, and you just said MY kitchen.
Berry: SHUT UP CONSCIENCE!

  7. Hahahaha.....cracked me up several shades. The revelations of the marriage relationship.
Its sad that for folks who are less aware and in tune with themselves, little issues like these degenerate and become what we know as irreconcilable differences.

Here's to more interesting, rich experiences on your marital journey.

    1. It's so true. I've heard bunches of stories of couples trying to divorce, and when you get to the initial cause of the disagreement, it was something as simple as squeezing the toothpaste from the middle or eating someone's last biscuit.

      Thanks!

  13. And about attachments to mugs, I'm so in. As a matter of fact I put my mug on my dressing table and take it out to the kitchen only when I want to use it after which I wash and replace it.
