The BEST Saturday I've Had in a While

Ladies and gentlemen,

Right now, as I type, it's Saturday night. I feel light and airy, and it's been a while since I've felt this way. I hope come Thursday, as you read this and leave comments, I still feel the same way. I almost feel like I'm walking on clouds and life is really good! What happened this Saturday, you ask? Anyone who watched my stories on Instagram or Snapchat have an idea, but might think that nothing special happened. Well, come close and I'll spill the beans.

I HAD A PEDICURE!!!

AND AN AT-HOME FACIAL!!!

Before you laugh at me, or roll your eyes, just hear me out.

ADD ME ON SNAPCHAT!!!
The last time I had a pedicure was in March, just before Cakes came over to Atlanta. If you know me, then you know that going 6 months without this relaxing beauty ritual was almost torture for me. Back in Lagos, I tried my best to have regular pedicures - every 4 to 6 weeks was ideal. The feeling of a great pedicure is almost as good as an orgasm! Yes, I said it. Long story short, my pedicure earlier today has me floating and I'm very very happy!

My facial this morning started with my regular facial soap from Bath Kandy, specifically the Black Pepper and Turmeric Soap.

I followed it up with my St. Ives Green Tea Facial Scrub, which has really small, fine granules that aren't too harsh on my skin. And the product that took it over the top - the Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask. I'm telling you my face still feels extra clean 9 hours later!

Can you tell I feel very refreshed? And it didn't take a lot of effort or money! I think we all have little rituals that make us feel good about ourselves and life - it can be an at-home beauty regimen, reading a good book, drinking a cup of tea or a glass of wine. It's important to make sure that we take care of ourselves.

I was still so happy and light on Saturday that this happened!

  1. Aww I know how this feels, I have used most of the products you listed. To top the spa day try a candle from yankee candle or bath & body works, some camomile tea or any other tea you fancy. Watch your fave youtube videos or read a book. Perfection!

    1. I drink chamomile tea almost every night! It really helps me relax too. And yes, watching Youtube and reading a book or magazine can be very calming. I think I'll get a candle soon. I used to have one that was made of massage oils :D

    1. I will totally check out your blog! I do like rain - makes for fun times, or relaxing if you're home and it's very heavy.
