Anyways, let me catch you up on a few things I did during the break.
- Netflix and Chilled
Ho Mai Gersh! So this is what you people have been enjoying!!! I had no idea! Everyone has been talking about 'Netflix and Chill' for the past how long, and I just rolled my eyes every time. But now, I'm a fan. A big fan! And let me tell you why - THE CROWN! Have you guys seen this show? It's so amazing. I've always had a fascination with the British Monarchy, and watching this show took my fascination to another level! The acting is superb, the story lines (which are based on facts) are great, the soundtrack! My goodness! My mum, sister and I watched the whole show in less than 3 days. Yup, we binged-watched and we were happy!Source - Vanity Fair - Family Time Galore!
As you already know, my family is very closeknit and we always enjoy the time we spend together, especially around the holidays. Right after I went on break, we all drove down to Athens for my brother's graduation. Yup, my dad no longer has to pay school fees! Thank God for His provisions for our family through the years. We had a party for my brother at home the following day - my Snapchat and Instagram Berry-boos saw all the dancing, food and action!
Almost immediately after, they all abandoned me and left me home alone while they went cruising to the Bahamas. Yes o, they actually all went together and left me behind. Well, Cakes came back from Nigeria two days after they left, so I had a reason to stay back. Besides, we're going on our own romantic cruise in less than a month!!!
Of course, Christmas Day was SPECIAL! We had an awesome time. Maybe I'll share our home videos one day. New Year's was good too although we were mostly tired from the past two weeks of activity. - Work work work
I had an epiphany during my break. One of the major reasons why I was so exhausted and tired and a bit on the morose side was because of work. I have to put this out there - working retail is not easy and doing it during the holiday season is almost painful! When other companies are beginning to wind down and go on holiday, stores are going into overdrive! I had to be at work at 5am a lot of times, which meant waking up before 4am so I could leave the house on time. It was an exhausting time. Please o, God o, abeg o, give me that job or business idea that I'll excel in and enjoy doing because I kent do this retail during the holidays again. Mbanu!
While some lectured me on why I shouldn't have taken a break (on the blog and offline), I appreciate the time I spent off, and feeling re-energized for the year. Thanks for reading and sticking by me. Lotsa love and kisses!
I really don't think anyone has the right to lecture anybody on their blog, epecially when she says she needs a break. It was obviously a well thought out decision and not a whim. It's not until someone breaks down or starts blogging nonsense out kf burn out before we start advising that they rest.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a good time.
Lol. You are welcome. I love reading what you write.

Thank you Bisola. I really did agonize over taking a break, because the real thought that was in my mind was shutting the whole blog down. I'm glad I took the break sha, but for in case of next time sake (if that's a thing), I'll jejely take the break time quietly... and so my mum will not lecture me again. As in, 10 minute lecture o!

DeleteGlad to know that you feel better. The Crown was really interesting for me too. It needs a lot of consentration and that's what I love the most. I am patiently waiting for Season 2 lol.

Thanks Zinny! I agree about the concentration. Sometimes you want to watch fluff, but other times you want something that makes you think.
