Berry Filling Weekend

Hey y'all,

How was your weekend?! I can tell you mine was BEAUTIFUL! It was full of friends and food :) Lots and lots and lots of food! I think I ate enough to last me until 2015 :p

On Friday after work, my girls talked me into dinner at Spice Route, followed by drinks and dancing at Sip (a lounge/club in Victoria Island). I honestly didn't want to go and was dragging my feet... until I got dressed (Miss Chee lent me clothes to wear cos I really wasn't interested). There's something about getting dressed up, wearing a hawt outfit that just gets you in the mood to go out there and turn up! Dinner was fun, but we finished earlier than expected and had to wait a while before Sip started getting full. It was the weirdest thing - we got there at 11:35pm and there were literally no cars outside. Some friends who were going to be there as well, said that we should have waited till midnight. They were so right because within 20 minutes, it was like the whole of the Island people descended at the same time! It's as if there's a Turn Up Timetable that I'm not aware of. Anyways, we were there for about an hour - the music was just blah and I was more bored than anything, so we left - waste of hawt outfit. Unfortunately for you, I didn't take any pictures, but just imagine me showing legs :D

I slept over at my friend's house, and on Saturday morning, we headed over to our other friend's house for what was supposed to be breakfast. Well, it turned into lunch. And then dessert/dinner. But it was such a nice time with the ladies. I'm telling you, there are few things in life that are better than having good girlfriends. We just talked, played, danced, shared life's issues and it was a great time. However, by evening, I started missing Cakes and was about to head home when he texted me to say he was going out with the boys. I asked where and you'll never guess... CAR WASH :-| (guys are so weird). I sha went home and was almost asleep before Cakes got home.

Sunday was the day I most looked forward to. Starting November 1st to 21st, Mastercard Restaurant Week is going on in Lagos - I found out through Lost in Lagos, which is one of my go-to guides for places to visit in Lagos. A select number of restaurants are participating and they all have lunch and dinner deals - 3 course meals at a fixed price (see the restaurants and menus here). I got wind of it last week and decided that I wanted to take Cakes on a date. I literally sent him a text message to ask him out, he said yes (duh!) and I made the plans. I was going to take him to Yellow Chili but he wanted Chinese food, so that's where we ended up - CHINAVILLE Restaurant in VI.

After lunch, we were soooooooooooo stuffed, but stopped by a store opening. Angelikas is a home goods store with very nice luxury decor items, accessories and gifts. It is owned by Moji. She also has a clothes boutique in the back with very lovely clothes by designer Moyo (who happens to be her sister - the line is Kareema Mak). All the items I saw were so beautiful! I wish I could have taken the whole store with me.

There was a photo booth at the event too, and we had to get a picture of course!!! They gave us hard copies and even sent a link to the picture to my phone.

Our next stop of the day was at Cakes' friend's housewarming. We got there as everyone was leaving, but we chilled for a bit, ate very yummy jollof rice, and had drinks. I ran into Sandra (Naija Girl Next Door) there - such a small world. Anyways, after that, we got groceries and then headed home.

And that, my friends, was my weekend! Have a berry beautiful week!

XOXO.

    1. Lol, I dunno how!

Lagos is nice, as long as there's no traffic and you have someone to take you around.
