How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good, but uneventful. Why? Because I didn't read the details. Okay, see what had happened was...
For the past week and a half, I looked forward to attending the Locs Styling Competition (organized by Locitude and Kinky Apothecary). It was going to be the same weekend that capped the Felabration celebrations, and would be held at the same venue - Freedom Park. So in my head, I made my plans. On Friday, I would get my hair done (crochet braids), and on Saturday afternoon, I would head over to Freedom Park to watch the styling competition and stay on for the Felabration performances of the evening. I've never been to any Felabration thingy, and truthfully, I barely even know any Fela song, but I'm just curious.
Anyways, on Friday afternoon, an hour before leaving work and heading to my hair appointment, I decided to put up an 'Events this Weekend' post for you guys. While composing the post, I copied the Locitude photo, and pasted it in the blog post, and then BAM! It hit me!
The event was for FRIDAY,NOT SATURDAY. Which meant that the styling competition was going to start in an hour and a half - the exact start time as my hair appointment! I didn't have my handy dandy camera with me (and yes, my camera has spoilt me - now I don't want to take any pictures with my phone). I was just so confused and demoralized by my realization that I just decided to cancel everything and go home.
*BTW this isn't the first time I've mixed up event dates. My sister and cousins know me for this*
Cakes and I said we'd go watch a a movie on Friday night, but we just couldn't agree on which movie. I want to watch Dracula, he wants Equalizer. And they're not showing at the same time, where we can go to the cinema, split up and watch what we each want to watch and be happy. So we decided to stay home and watch the latest episode of Scandal (Shondra Rhimes, I'm getting sick of freaking Papa Pope o - he might need to be offed!). So that was Friday.
On Saturday, I was able to get the crochet braids done - no pictures yet, but you can see the one Dabs posted on the Savvy Chic instagram handle below. Sunday was pretty much the same - we just went to church, had cake deliveries and came home.

P.S. Twice this week, Cakes was unable to drop off cakes for clients (he forgot the first time, and the second client was unavailable). So guess who had free cake to share :D
So that was my uneventful weekend! How was yours?
Have a good week!
