I hope you had a pretty weekend. I did, for the most part. First of all, everyone needs to watch OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN!!! That movie is totally BAD @SS!!! I was literally screaming, shouting, clapping at the screen. Gerard Butler is definitely back! Such a thrilling movie - it's highly recommended!
Secondly, just before I went to bed last night, I was doing my usual browsing and was extremely tickled to read an article on Yahoo. The title - 'Florida battles slimy invasion by giant snails.' Ordinarily I wouldn't click, but out of curiousity I did and this was the picture that went along with the article.
Erm, isn't that the same kind of snails I ate during Easter? See the full post here, and let's compare the picture I posted.
Yup, it's the same snail.
So according to the article, Florida's being infested with "one of the world's most destructive invasive species... with more than 1000 being caught per week in Miami-Dade." The article goes on to say that "experts gathered last week in Gainesville, Florida, for a Giant African Land Snail Science Symposium, to seek the best ways to eradicate the mollusks, including use of a stronger bait approved recently by the federal government."
BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm here to propose a VERY VERY simple solution.
Dear Florida, just call for Nigerians in the region to please come and collect snails for use in soup or stew for free! There are 3 benefits to this solution...
- The "invasive species are eradicated."
- An immigrant group is made happy.
- US Customs will have one less thing to look out for, from Nigerians entering the country.
