Goofing Around With My Cousin Rexie

Hiya!

I hope you had a lovely weekend, as I did. I didn't do a lot, but attended a seminar in church that was quite eye-opening and powerful. It definitely cemented in my heart that God does know us BEFORE we're even conceived or born.

Anyway, you guys have met my cousin Rexie before. We went to this event together (the photos from today's post are actually from that day). We've talked about Aso Ebi drama on my Youtube channel. And she's appeared here and there on the blog.

Why am I talking about her today? Because I have pictures of us that I want to post and no real story :p

Do you guys have those cousins that aren't actually related to you? As in, you're not even distantly connected by blood - that's the kinda cousins we are. We actually met in 2002 or 2003, and we all (my sister, her sister, Rexie and I) just called each other cousins. Up until now there are people who refuse to believe that we aren't actually related.

We all lived together in Boston and coincidentally moved to Atlanta within a month of each other. We've been through so many ups, and quite a few downs. There have been times where one person isn't talking to the other, but by God's grace we still love each other - even though we may not show it all the time.

As the oldest one in the group, people naturally assumed I was "the leader" of our pack. Guys actually used to think that we were all too close and would have meetings at a round table, discussing who was allowed to date who and whatnot. REALLY?!?!?!?!? I mean, of course we discussed, but nobody had a hold over anyone else's life or decisions.

We have laughed together, cried together, lost weight together - although Rexie did more than an amazing job! Check out her story on Bella Naija about losing 70 pounds and keeping it off!

On this day, after our event, on the way home we drove by this wall of graffiti. At first it looked like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle homage, but we looked closer and saw that it was Kermit the Frog! We quickly parked the car by the side of the road, and came out to take photos :p

I hope you enjoyed seeing these photos and learning a little more about Rexie and I - and our sisters too. I hope you have such friends that are so close, you call them family.

Have a beautiful week! Kisses from the Kiss-Me-Quick Queen!

  1. I was wondering if there won't be a jumping photo! I recall I'd seen Rexie's weight loss story somewhere. Impressive. And yes I totally have those cousins that aren't really my cousins. Lol!

  3. Berry, I want that Ankara thing wrapped around your waist!
Your cousin is cute. I love how close you two are. I'm definitely checking out he weight-loss story.
I want to learn how to jump in a photo like you when I grow up. My only successful photo jump ever was on my convocation day. And that was my hat in the air not me. Ha
