Twas a Berry Floral Weekend!!!!

WARNING!!! Picture overload!!!

So the Floral Party hosted by Dabs of Naija Hair Can Grow and Savvy & Chic Hair and Beauty Hub (which also has a magazine) was sooooo much fun!!! As you know, a bunch of bloggers (myself included) were invited to a Garden Party, and we each were asked to bring one reader, and get dressed up in floral themes. The photos from the event will be in the next edition of the Savvy & Chic magazine.

I wore a black and white outfit (I REALLY like black and white! Remember my wedding?). It was a floral skirt, white button down, and my wedges (also from the wedding). Unfortunately, I forgot my hair clip at home :(. I got to the venue (The Social Place) before 3pm, to drop off the cupcake bouquets Dabs ordered from Cakes (meanwhile, it was my sales pitch, so I think I deserve a 150% commission). Then I left to pick up my winner, Olanike, at an agreed place and we went back to the venue.

Berry and Olanike, my winner :)
If there's no peace sign, the party hasn't started. TWO FINGAZ!

If there aren't jump shots, then there is NO party
Check out my landing! Choi, you wan try?!?!?!?!

Okay, let me just put a spotlight on the cupcake bouquets. They were really pretty to look at, and Cakes is getting so much better at the presentation! He did a bang up job on the pretty purple and pink cupcakes. In fact, a few people thought they were actual flowers, until I told them they were cupcakes. I think they're the perfect gift for anyone who likes cupcakes AND flowers, and they're really not that expensive. So they are a great choice for birthdays, get well soon wishes, congratulations, all kinds of occasions! And yes, we shall have them for Valentine's Day so start telling your toasters, boyfriends, gentlemen callers, fiances, husbands, friends, etc.

If you want to order, call Cake Factory at 08094263869 or 08033118995. Follow him on Instagram/Twitter using the handle @Cakesiena and like his Facebook Page too :). Oh yes, and his BBM is 7E0454E4.

I should mention that they're also good for corporate gifts! Your logo will be in the center and surrounded by pretty flowers in your company's colors!!!

Moving on, I wasn't sure what to expect at the party, but let me say that my expectations were surpassed by infinity!!! When I walked in, the first thing I saw was our dining table set in the garden of The Social Place (33 Sinari Daranijo Street, VI), and it was such a pretty setting! Pinks, golds, flowers, everything girly - AWESOMENESS!!! I really have to hand it to Dabs and Tola (owner of The Social Place). They put a very good event together. I even told Dabs to go into events, which she declined :p. I miss event planning sha.

We all had assigned seating and got floral hair pins and head bands :)

Anyways, lots of bloggers were there, and as it turns out, a lot of the readers who came ARE also bloggers! Blogging is fierce o. As the ladies came in, we all took pictures and socialized.

Yemisi has gorgeous hair!
Speaking of which, at a point, someone would have thought it was a natural hair event, cos A LOT of ladies had natural hair, lol. Tomorrow now, someone will say naturals and relaxed girls are at war. LIES, ALL LIES!!!

When there were enough people, we were invited to sit, enjoy cocktails, finger food, and talk about blogging - why we started blogging, how we deal with negative comments, how we schedule our posts, product reviews (negative and positive - the value of constructive criticism especially in Nigeria - can you believe a blogger was banned from a bar because she simply said they took too long to serve the food, which she actually enjoyed?!?!?!?!), cameras and photography quality, blog design, etc.

I really enjoyed the food, from the finger foods to the cocktails to the entree and dessert!
The Chapman was very good!!!

Frozen yogurt from Sweet Kiwi

The cupcakes were dessert too, and they were gone in less than 2 minutes!
Sweet Kiwi, I have a date with you VERY VERY SOON!!! All I want is chocolate froyo with peanuts and oreos :)
Before the entree came, we actually got rained out. It was sooooooo sad! We were having such a nice time out in the garden, and little by little, the clouds got darker and the threat of rain loomed. Unfortunately, it became more than just a threat and we were forced to take the party inside. I'm still learning how to use my camera so I don't have a lot of pictures from inside. Actually, I do, but they're not well lit, so I'm posting only the good ones.

Inside my goody bag :)

All in all, it was a smashing success and Dabs deserves a round of applause! Mehn, I felt like this post took longer than my Dubai series. Some of the other ladies put up their posts yesterday already - talk about lightning fingers! In my defense, I had a lot of pictures and I took my time to find and put up everyone's blog links, cos I'm a noice puhson, innit?! Anyways, check out the other ladies' posts from our pretty Garden Party day.

  20. Keep in mind, if you do choose to have a wedding or event here that the maximum capacity with a dance floor is about 150. So it is different from having a wedding at a big hotel.

  22. OMG! WOW! Everything is Perfect. Your floral skirt, other ladies outfits, the outdoor setting, the food etc. The cupcakes are out of this world. Its a pity the rain tried to spoil the fun. Am officially jealous though. Big Ups to Dabs of NHCG for such a thoughtful idea.
