Style Swap with Me!

Hey everyone!!!

Thanks for the birthday messages! I was really touched by every single one of them, both online and offline :) I'm back in Atlanta now, after traveling for almost 2 weeks. Our time in the UK was so much fun - I'm pretty certain those who follow me on Snapchat can attest to that. There were a lot of activities planned, and one of them was an outing with fellow blogger Nemi aka True Sorella.

We ended up hanging out in one of the H&M stores on Oxford Street, and she came up with an idea for us to style each other in different outfits. She's been able to get her video of me edited already, so I thought it'd be fun to share here. I have a backlog of videos to edit, but I'll try to get hers done soon as well.

Enjoy!

Happy Birthday to me!

It's my birthday!!!!! Woot woot! I am thankful to God for another year. I pray for His wisdom, joy, love to continue to shine over me. I hope I become a better Christian, listening for His voice AND obeying, no matter what.

Thanks to Cakes, my family, my friends, and to all of you for having my back. Your love and support means a lot to me. I wish I could give you kisses but my tonsils are acting up again and I don't want to leave my bed. So find someone to kiss on my behalf... Okay okay, you can hug if you don't want kisses.

Have a marvelous holiday tomorrow. Eat some cake, ice cream and pop champagne but only the sweet kind, because we drink only sweet alcohol.

Love ya!

Put A Smile on a Child Amputee's Face

An estimated 200 million are born with disability or are disable by the age of 19, children living with limb loss (either congenital or acquired ) feel different from their peers. The cost of an artificial limb is a heavy financial burden for most families, especially considering that child amputees outgrow their limbs as regularly as they outgrow clothing.

The IREDE Foundation is a foundation set up to give child amputees love, hope and joy, over the last 3 years we have given out 32 prosthesis and replaced 10 prosthesis. The Irede Foundation assists with the costs of standard artificial limbs and ongoing adjustments and repairs.

Project 1000 is a campaign set up in order to raise funds to helps get prosthesis for child amputees, we are calling on 1000 people to help give N1000 (One Thousand Naira)  which will help a child amputee get a prosthesis and in turn put a smile on their faces.

Individuals are encouraged to refer any child with limb loss within their immediate environment. To donate funds for this cause, you can do so through.

My Birthday Wishlist!

My birthday is on Sunday, but first of all, Happy Birthday to my grandpa who turns 91 today :)

I don't think I've ever shared a birthday wish list on the blog. Even offline, my wishlist usually consisted of gift cards to go shopping. My favorite store in my late teens/early twenties was Victoria's Secret - don't judge, lest ye be judged!!! That's a far cry from my tweens when all I wanted were Barbie dolls and other toys. I remember wondering why adults never got many presents and determined I would ALWAYS get lots of presents when I grew up. But I think as you get older, you either start wanting less or realizing that you don't need as much. Or maybe it's that you prefer quality over quantity, and so would rather save up for something more expensive that should last a longer time.

Well, I'm in no mood for shopping - as in, zero appeal to go anywhere or have anyone buy me anything. All I want are...

Travel to Pensacola, Florida

Hiiiiiiiiii,

I didn't mean to be gone so long *hides face* but we've been traveling like I mentioned, so it's been hard to sit down and blog. This is why you should plan ahead and IMPLEMENT!

About 10 days ago, my family and I went on a road trip from Atlanta to Mobile, Alabama for my sister's graduation. It was a 5.5 hour drive and we had a lot of fun on the road. My niece and nephew kept us laughing the whole time with their cuteness overload. We got to Mobile in good time, went out for Cinco de Mayo (a Mexican holiday), and went to bed feeling exhausted.

Eyeglasses aka Four-Eyes

I got my very first pair of prescription glasses when I was 15 or 16 years old. I had been having these headaches, that turned out to be migraines and was directed to get my eyes checked. I was diagnosed with slight astigmatism in my right eye and prescribed glasses. I can't remember if I was excited about them or not. If I remember correctly, I was halfway between loving and hating the idea of wearing glasses.

Be Right Back

Hey everyone!

Short note here. I haven't abandoned the blog or my email. My parents have come in and we traveled to Alabama  (my first time here) for my baby sister's graduation! I've been VERY BUSY and haven't been able to sit down and write any posts, reply comments or emails but I hope I get some down time in the middle of the week. As I type this now I'm lying down exhausted from helping my sister pack her things before we head back to Atlanta.

The easiest way to keep up with me is Snapchat and you can follow me at BerryDakara.

Pleeeeeeease don't be annoyed and think I've disappeared. I've just been busy. Thanks to everyone who's been emailing! Replies are coming mid-week.

To everyone else, I miss you and I'm sending Double D hugs to you!!!

*kisses*

It's May!!!

I'm not one of those 'Happy New Month' people, but May is the most special month in the calendar! Why? Mostly because it's my birth month, AND there are holidays in Nigeria (on my actual birthday), the UK, and the US. So, it's just a nice month for everyone :)

Well, this year, May's even more special because my family's reuniting. My "baby sister" from this post is graduating and we're all driving down to Alabama! Should I do a vlog on the trip? Then, my niece turns 1 and we're having a party of course! Then, we're all off to England and Scotland during the second half of the month! Does anyone want to meet up while I'm there? Email me at berrydakara@gmail.com.

And then, of course, it's my birthday on a holiday weekend as usual! Feel free to have a birthday drink on my behalf that weekend.

So I officially welcome you to May :)

P.S. THANK YOU to everyone who has reached out over my latest vlog. The support and prayers has been tremendous and overwhelming! My sister even sent a message saying that you guys, my blog readers are amazing! So thank you all. I've replied most of the comments left on the post. I'm still replying emails and comments on Youtube, so if you reached out via those means, I'm not being rude and ignoring you. I am definitely responding to every single message. GOD BLESS!!!

P.P.S. I've decided that my birthday starts today and ends on May 30th, so I'm accepting birthday wishes everyday for the next 30 days. Or should we make it 31 days? Okay okay, my birthday is the whole of May. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!
