Married Women Sex

Erm, before I start this post, I just want you to calm down. Don't worry, I'm not going for shock value or anything like that.

I've mentioned a few times on the blog that I really enjoy old, classic films. TCM (and AMC when I'm in Atlanta). A few Fridays ago, I watched one called Splendor in the Grass. It starred Warren Beatty (who was such a hunky fox mehn!!!) and Natalie Wood. The story was about two high school students who were dating, and the boy wanted to sleep with her, while the girl wasn't ready. What was funny was the boy's father encouraged his son to get a side chick to have sex with until he was ready to marry his girlfriend, who he said he loved. Meanwhile, the girl's mother was very adamant about telling her daughter to remain pure until her wedding night.

The girl (Deanie) confessed to her mum that she had urges though, and the conversation continued thus...

30 Things to Consider Before You Turn 30

There I was on FB the other day, just minding my own business, because that's what Facebook is for... OBVIOUSLY.

Anyway, I came upon a note written by a friend, Pelumi. I asked if I could share here, because SHARING IS CARING, AND CARING IS NOMINATING ME FOR NIGERIAN BLOG AWARDS (Categories 11, 18, 27).

Without further ado, here's Pelumi's list of 30 things Before 30. This is not like my 30 List.

Before you hit 30, 30 things to consider.

I am a fan of these types of articles so here is my attempt at being original. This blogpost was inspired by two of my favorite OAPs, (On-Air Personalities) who recently turned thirty: Gbemi Olateru of the Beat FM and Toke Makinwa of Rhythm FM (*note from Berry* To my non-Nigerian residents, they are on the radio here and their ages have caused serious debates online because a lot of people believe they're lying, and are really older. Which one is my own?).These are things I would like to do or habits I encourage people to develop before age thirty. And if you are above 30, I believe these still apply. Enjoy

Berry Lovely Links

Hi Dahlings!

So that's how I almost forgot to post this today. Sawry!!! But I've got some pretty interesting links today. My absolute favorite is #4 though. I literally spent hours reading most of the texts from Crazy Jewish Mom! So I suggest, you balance with some cake, ice cream, hot chocolate, whatever during the weekend and have a good laugh over the pure hilarity. In the meantime, don't forget to NOMINATE NOMINATE NOMINATE me for the Nigerian Blog Awards (Categories 11, 18, and 27 for those who prefer numbers... for all others - Best Humor, Best Personal/Lifestyle, and Best Overall). Make sure to follow the instructions, and click on the link they send back to you, so your nomination counts.

Berry Asian Weekend

Hello friends!

Right now I'm on my way back to Lagos. I was away for a somber occasion (everyone please hold your family and friends tight, and let them know you love them today). The journey there went well, so thank God. I spent Saturday just chilling and resting, because I really needed it. But yesterday, I went to Asia. :)

As in, Asia Town.

The restaurant in Port Harcourt.

Oops, did you think I meant Asia, the continent? My bad.

Anyways, I grew up in Port Harcourt, and when I first moved back to Nigeria, I lived there with my dad. Then in 2012, I moved to Lagos for NYSC, met Cakes, got a job, yada yada yada. I used to visit PH very often (once a month) in 2012. I once thought I'd want to live here because it's my hometown (well, one of them), but after living in Lagos, sorry o. I like to have fun. PH doesn't have a wide variety of fun things to do. And no, clubbing every single weekend is not my idea of fun (occasionally, yes, regularly, no).

Where was I going with all that long story? Oh yeah, so last year, or maybe 2013, I heard of a new restaurant in Port Harcourt, that everyone was excited and raving about. In my last few trips here, I didn't get a chance to check it out. But yesterday, my mum suggested we have Sunday lunch there. So, I packed my bag, put on some makeup (because SHE was wearing makeup and I didn't want to look like her housegirl/driver), and off we went.

BLOG TALK: How Long will You Blog?

Hey Dahlings!

I was just walking one day, being berrylicious, and thinking about interview questions. One of the questions that came to mind was,
"Where do you see yourself in 10 years?"

That question then took me to,

"Where do you see your blog in 10 years?"

Which then made me ask myself,

"Erm, will I still be blogging in 10 years?"

Natural Hairstyle Tutorial: The Faux Bun, 2 Ways

The weekend before this one that just passed, I was home waiting for Cakes so we could go on cake deliveries. While waiting, I decided to play with hair and makeup. I showed you the makeup up close in last week's Weekend post, but now I want to show you what I did with my hair. I decided to put it up in a faux bun for an easy but classic look.

The pictures are pretty self-explanatory, but if you just can't decipher it, it's as easy as putting your hair in a bun, pulling your extensions through a hair band midway, attaching it to the bun, and wrapping the extensions to your desired position. Pin down with bobby pins, and VOILA!

Piece o cake, innit? Looks like a week of DIY's innit? I'm sure you've nominated me for the Nigerian Blog Awards, innit? IT'S NOT?!?! What are you waiting for? Oya, han le le, go and nominate me before I loosen my hair!

Berry DIY Weekend and a Mini Review

Hello lovers and friends!

How are ya? How'd your weekend go? Mine was pretty restful, which was needed. As you know from my 2015 Goals post, I want to lose some weight, so I've been exercising and it really tuckers me out. I work out for at least 40 minutes a day, and I'm already seeing results on the scale, so YAY ME! Anyways, the point is that exercising throughout the week makes me really tired at night, so having a mostly quiet weekend was very necessary. And it gave me time to finally get my DIY on!

Okay, yes I'm buttering you up, but you know I love you though.

And since I love you unconditionally, I will not even care if you don't nominate me for any category in the Nigerian Blog Awards. Because I love you without expecting you to love me back, feel free to not click on this link to the Nigerian Blog Awards website. Since I love you so much and don't feel the need for reciprocation, you don't need to read the instructions on the NBA site. And finally, since I feel for so much for you without being needy, I don't think it's absolutely necessary for you to nominate me for

  • BEST HUMOR BLOG (#11)
  • BEST PERSONAL/LIFESTYLE BLOG (#18)
  • BEST NIGERIAN BLOG (#27)
So, my love who I love even more than Candy Crush, do what you think is best.

Your conscience will guide you.

And if not, maybe a threat to shut down this blog will.

Blogging Goals for 2015

Hello delectable ladies and dashing gentlemen *wink*

Last week, I shared my personal goals for 2015. I'd like to announce that it's been over a week into the new year and I'm on track with the first goal (I've been exercising and trying to watch what I eat). I'm not doing well at all on the book reading one - I watch waaaaaaaaaay too much TV and seem to have lost the discipline of reading. For this I might have to limit my TV watching to 2 hours max per day, or do a lifestyle fast and drop TV for a little while (I've done it before). Anyways, I said I would share my blogging goals later and here they are...

Secret Lover

Hello everyone,

I have thought long and hard about this. It is something I am greatly ashamed to admit. When I think about it, it gives me pause and causes me a lot of anxiety. I never thought I would be the kind of person to go back to an ex. Actually that's not true because I believe sometimes the love is too strong (of course, it doesn't always work out the second time around). Regardless of that, as a married woman, thinking about an ex, dwelling on those thoughts, and toying with the idea or fantasy of hooking up once more is supposed to be off-limits!

Unfortunately, I have strayed. :(

Happy 2015 - New Year Goals!!!

Hello Dahlings!!!

Can this be my official HAPPY NEW YEAR post? Yes, yes, I know I have already put up 2 posts this year, but in my mind this is the one I wanted to put up first. So let's pretend today is January 1st. The first thing you have to do is leave your office or class, and tell them that Berry said today's a holiday. BUT if you get fired or an F, just know that I was not there by that time.

We had a loooooooooooooooooooooong weekend. January 1st and 2nd were holidays, so I looked forward to a fun fun time, hanging out with friends and just generally chilling.

Do You Like Your Pictures?

Hey DDs!

So there's this guy I know from a while ago. He's a VERY good-looking brother. In fact, I may have had a teeny tiny crush on him some kind time like this. Anyways, this fine brother was a very smart individual (well, doctors are smart, right?) and very confident in himself. Maybe confident to the point of arrogance. He's one of the few guys (if not the only guy) I know who likes his own photos on Facebook.

I know other people who do the same thing. They put up a picture on Facebook or Instagram and then proceed to "like" the photo. It's not as if there's anything legally or morally wrong with that, but isn't it kinda weird? Like, since you're posting the photo, doesn't that already mean that you like it? Isn't that why you posted it? If you don't like the picture, then why would you put it up online? So posting it means that you think the picture is nice... so why go a step further and "like" the photo?

If you know the answer please help me out, because it baffles me every time I see another instance.
