Radisson Blu Lagos Weekend

AM I IN NIGERIA?!?!?!?!?!! And I didn't tell anybody?!?!?!?!?!? The answer is no. These are old photos from when I hung out with my friend Feyfey. I actually met her through blogging, and you might remember her from this post. Anyways, some time this year before this happened, we met up to have drinks, food and just talk about life in general. She's such a sweetheart, and I'm really thankful for her (and others) who I've met through blogging.

We decided to meet at Radisson Blu in Victoria Island, as a halfway point between us. When I was single I liked to go there to hang out with a friend or two. I really like hotel lobbies - they can be a way for you experience that "going out" feeling without making too much of an effort. A nearby bar, cafe or restaurant are all you need for a quiet outing. I like the lobby decor in this hotel.

Don't you just love these sculptures? See this post for other sculptures I enjoyed during my last road trip in Nigeria.

Anyways, we both enjoyed our food, as we shared a burger and fries. The fries were sooooooooooooooooo good!!! I think I eat fries a little too much :(

I really enjoyed the time we spent together. We talked about everything from work, to relationships, to losing loved ones, and my impending move. I think as women, we should have friends that we can talk to about anything, and who will lift us up in down times - of course, you should be able to do the same for them. It's not just about saying hey and rattling off about your life. Remember to ASK good questions!

We skipped over to Hans and Rene, which is in the same vicinity, but the popular Agbalumo flavor wasn't available, so we skipped out on it. I think this was the time I tried their chocolate cruffin - a croissant muffin - which is one of my favorite food items ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you haven't tried it, you really should. Of course we had to take "the shot" in Hans and Rene.

It was a short but sweet outing with Feyfey, and reminds me about some of the things I miss about Nigeria.

Have a lovely week this week! Be kind to others you meet :)

  1. Yeah, its good to have friends who can lift your spirit all the time.. There is one of them I have that merely thinking of her funny ways, makes me laugh no matter how angry I am that moment.

Nice pictures girl and good message behind the story.

  3. Seems like you guys had fun, I love the sculpture and ambiance of the hotel and yes to meeting awesome people through blogging. While I think its great to have friends to honestly confide in, my parents always say never tell anyone all your secrets, keep at least 10 percent.

    1. I don't know if anyone actually tells all their secrets... and definitely not to one person.

  5. You make some good points around developing real friendship. I really like the decor at Radisson Blu and the burgers look tasty. This Agbalumo flavor is getting scare at Hans and Rene by the day.
