We decided to meet at Radisson Blu in Victoria Island, as a halfway point between us. When I was single I liked to go there to hang out with a friend or two. I really like hotel lobbies - they can be a way for you experience that "going out" feeling without making too much of an effort. A nearby bar, cafe or restaurant are all you need for a quiet outing. I like the lobby decor in this hotel.
Don't you just love these sculptures? See this post for other sculptures I enjoyed during my last road trip in Nigeria.
I really enjoyed the time we spent together. We talked about everything from work, to relationships, to losing loved ones, and my impending move. I think as women, we should have friends that we can talk to about anything, and who will lift us up in down times - of course, you should be able to do the same for them. It's not just about saying hey and rattling off about your life. Remember to ASK good questions!
It was a short but sweet outing with Feyfey, and reminds me about some of the things I miss about Nigeria.
Have a lovely week this week! Be kind to others you meet :)
Yeah, its good to have friends who can lift your spirit all the time.. There is one of them I have that merely thinking of her funny ways, makes me laugh no matter how angry I am that moment.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures girl and good message behind the story.

Thank you! I'm hungry right now too :(
DeleteSeems like you guys had fun, I love the sculpture and ambiance of the hotel and yes to meeting awesome people through blogging. While I think its great to have friends to honestly confide in, my parents always say never tell anyone all your secrets, keep at least 10 percent.

I don't know if anyone actually tells all their secrets... and definitely not to one person.
DeleteThanks Sarah!
Some Friends actually rise in terms of adversity and some actually come to your aid even when your family abandons you. www.khealthandbeautyplace.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteVERY VERY true!
DeleteYou make some good points around developing real friendship. I really like the decor at Radisson Blu and the burgers look tasty. This Agbalumo flavor is getting scare at Hans and Rene by the day.
