Owl-O-Ween Weekend

Befitting post title aye? Today's the official day of Halloween, which is celebrated in many countries across the world. It's also known as All Hallow's Eve. Some people believe that this holiday has pagan roots, while others believe that it was started as a Christian holiday meant as a day of remembrance for the dearly departed. In a lot of places, Halloween is mostly a commercialized holiday complete with decorations, parties, dressing up, and more. In others, church services are attended and candles lit to remember loved ones who have been lost.

I attended Kennesaw State University in my first year as an undergrad. I left after two semesters, but returned a few years later for my MBA. One of my activities on my floating bucket list is to see and ride a hot air balloon. As a matter of fact, shortly after I moved back, I researched hot air balloons in the area, and found out that my alma mater has an annual hot air balloon festival around the same time as Halloween. Of course, I was more interested in seeing the hot air balloons, but when my sister and I got there, we discovered it was also one big costume party as well!

We didn't catch all the performers but this guy swallowed swords!

Ewwwwwww!
He even got 7 swords in at a time!

This dude was waaaaay creepy
There were little arts and crafts for sale.

We took the kids and also my cousin from these posts here and here. The costumes we saw were pretty dope, I have to say.

Unfortunately, it got dark pretty quickly and it was very windy, so it was unsafe for the hot air balloons to go up. We were guaranteed free entry for the second day of the festival, but we had other plans and couldn't go back. I've decided anyways that I'll definitely attend a hot air balloon festival next year! And of course, I'll come back to share with you :)

P.S. My niece and nephew got dressed up in costumes at their school... cute, right?!

Have a pretty week!!!
