How was your weekend?! Mine was FULL!!! From Friday up until yesterday, it was out-and-about for me. I had fun though, and got home in enough time to not feel exhausted.
FRIDAY
On Friday, Cakes and I went out on a double date. Honestly, this is something I had wanted to for a loooooong time. I mentioned it casually to Cakes a few times since we started dating, but nothing ever happened. I'm very happy that his friend, Kash (whose wedding we went to in Abeokuta - remember our Olumo Rock adventure), brought up the idea. We planned to have a couples date night with dinner, drinks, maybe a movie and dancing. We were able to have drinks/dinner, and a movie. Maybe next time we'll go dancing.
We headed to The Palms Mall and ate at Double Four Restaurant. I think I have eaten there once before, but I don't quite remember.
I got a mojito. I wasn't sure about the color though. Aren't mojitos more green than anything? |
I really like this photo minus Cakes' face. What was he saying? |
I got these shoes from The 5K Shop (everything is N5k or below), and I LOVE THEM. I've actually worn them everyday since Friday (hides face).
SATURDAY
On Saturday morning, I woke up bright and early to get my hair done. I wanted to get big havana twists, but what I ended up with, I actually hate. So no pictures for the next 1 month!!! I like big, full hair. How can I use 4 packs of Marley hair, and afterwards, the twists are thin?!?!?!?
Anyways, after the hair was done, I slept for 4 hours cos Cakes and I got home late the previous night. I woke up just in time to shower and head out for a late lunch with my friends at the newest, hottest restaurant in town, R.S.V.P. I only went there for the burger, because my friends said they have the best burger in Lagos. My friends got there before me and ordered appetizers - some Burrata (which I refused to touch because, CHEESE and RAW TOMATOES).
They also ordered a Chicken thingy (can't remember the name), and this one I loved!
Now... the burger.
I was NOT impressed. It wasn't as juicy as I was expecting, and it was quite salty too. I actually had to pour a bunch of ketchup on, because I really wasn't feeling the burger.
The owner of the restaurant stopped by our table and offered us Chocolate Vodka shots - LOVED THEM!!! Yes, I had 2, sue me :)
My friends ordered Bread Pudding and ice cream for dessert.
FUN FACT: Ran into Bella Naija herself (Uche Pedro) at the restaurant. We've never met before, but she came over to our table, said hi, and was really warm. She's such a lovely lovely person.
After our late lunch, it was almost 8pm and Cakes and I were heading to a Salsa Class, courtesy of the Couples Group at church.
SUNDAY
On Sunday, there was a mini concert at the teenage church. The point was to show teenagers that you can praise God using any genre of music. I think they enjoyed themselves for the most part. I know I certainly did.
The top is also from The 5K Shop |
From there, we went to my one-time best friend's house for his birthday. I've known him since Nursery/Primary school and we've always been friends. I meant to take pictures of the food, but you know how sometimes you're maddeningly hungry? Yeah, that's what happened. Sawry.
After all the food I've eaten this weekend, I shouldn't wonder why the weight isn't dropping :( I'm still exercising at least 5 days a week, but the scale is not showing any progress at all. I might really have to do a detox for 3 to 5 days or 1 whole month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you think?
Have a pretty week my darlings!!!
u sure had loads of fun
ReplyDeleteYup, I certainly did.
DeleteFret not! keep doing your work outs, the pounds will definitely drop in due time. Loved it. Interesting read.

ReplyDeleteWell someone else said to try Johnny Rockets here in Lagos, so maybe I'll go there one day.
DeleteIt's The Waterbrook Church, under The Freedom House umbrella. Funny enough, there's a London branch, but no others outside Lagos.

Akin! I love YOUR blog - just ran to it now and I'm so impressed!
DeleteTo loose weight u have to consume lesser foods than your body expends..Basically counting calories(First off...u need to calculate ur BMR cz this wld give u an estimate of how much ur body expends when ur doing absolutely nothing,am guessing urs should be around 1700 to 1900.Once u get that all u need to do is eat lesser than that, then sit back and watch the fat melt off literally)u dont need to work ur ass off for the scales to shift..This is a resonating hallmark for any weight loss regimen.worked for me like crazy!!!
ReplyDeleteU had a blast this weekend!Lagos is super fun, cant believe what am missing..
Got my BMI calculated yesterday, and will definitely be watching my food intake.
DeleteLagos does have a lot to do.
I think you should also take the measurements, the scale isnt always right. Areas to measure your arm, thigh, waist and bust. You can do this monthly or bimonthly. Review your workout, if you do more cardio and less weight training, try to introduce more of the later
ReplyDeletethe food is the hardest part really but we all believe you can do it. Yes you can! Being conscious of what you feed your body is the 1st step...you look really good!
Thanks for the advice Nikki. I've introduced skipping and using the treadmill to my workouts, but I think the main culprit is food, so definitely watching that aspect.
DeleteI love your hair, your style and this blog!!!... Oh! And I'm totally hungry now as I type this haha!
