Hi guys and gals!!!
I am exhausted as I type this up and am tempted to just not even have a weekend update at all. But I know that would be mean, and I'll get messages offline asking where it is. So I'm doing the sacrificial thing and posting this for you. Yes, you. BTW, I hope you had a nice weekend.
I'll keep the writing to a minimum, as I intend to put up a separate post for the highlight of my weekend - which was a NAIJA TREKS excursion to IBADAN!!! Watch out for it later this week.
FRIDAY
On Friday after work, Cakes' friend had a birthday party somewhere in Lekki. He's a friend from church, so most of the guests were from church too. It was a BBQ-themed party, so there were hot dogs, burgers, grilled chicken, etc. I know, I know - after complaining on Thursday about the weight I gained, I went to a party full of high-calorie foods. No pictures to share because I was too tired. Plus I didn't want you to have evidence of what I ate.
SATURDAY
Like I mentioned earlier, I went to Ibadan (which is in Oyo State) with the Naija Treks group. Remember going on a trip with them was one of my Goals for 2015? Cakes and I went and we had a marvelous time! I'll share a few photos here, but a subsequent post will have a lot more and will come with stories.
SATURDAY NIGHT
My parents were in town for my aunt's birthday party. As soon as our Ibadan tour was over, we hurried back to Lagos (and spent an hour in traffic). We went to pick my parents up, freshened up, and went right back out for the party. Fashi, our parents and their friends know how to party!!! We were there till 2am, and left because Cakes was exhausted and had slept off.
Oh yeah, Cakes made the moistest red velvet and fruit cake for the party!
I danced and danced and danced... and aggravated the knee pain that bugged me a few weeks ago.
SUNDAY
On Sunday, after waking up pretty much at 11am, I followed Cakes to deliver this awesome baby shower cake and cupcakes.
Afterwards, we went to lunch with the 'rents. We ate at L'Afric in Victoria Island. In retrospect, we should have gone to Yellow Chili like my mum suggested, because I didn't enjoy the food much.
And that was my weekend!
P.S. There's a giveaway coming this week, and this one is courtesy of my boyfriend!!!
woot! woot! I see my uncle Modamo, bestest time lapse photographer ever!

Thank you ma'am. I think it's nice to explore your surroundings whenever you can. And apart from security and bad roads, Nigeria has quite a bit to offer in the way of tourism.
DeleteThanks - I liked the dress too!
Glad you had a nice time Berry..
DeleteAnd @Tomilola, there are great places to see in Nigeria, so far as you have money and leg to waka...and a mind to sight see and have fun.
And Google always helps...
