What I'm Listening To - Always

Hey pretty people! I hope you had a pretty weekend :)

I did. Guess who I sawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! No, not Fu-leh-vuh N'Abania. But close enough! D'Banj :D. He performed at a corporate event on Friday night. Tiwa Savage performed too, but Cakes and I were late due to the maddening (or as Cakes calls it, demonic) traffic, so we caught D'Banj only. I have a short clip of his performance on Instagram. All I can say is, "His Waist!!!"

Anyways, the title of my post is incorrect. The real title is What I'm Obsessed With - Always.

Over the weekend, Cakes and I saw The Bestman Holiday. Personally, I prefer the first film and I don't see what was so awesomely great about this one. Maybe my expectations were too high? Anyways, I was pleasantly surprised to hear one of my favorite songs in the film, during a significant scene. Stevie Wonder's original version was used in The Bestman, and for this new film, the song was remade by Anthony Hamilton and Marsha Ambrosius. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this new version. So much so that I slept at 2:30am last night, replaying the song and I've listened to it 20 times this morning (it's only 10am, so do the math).

Without further ado, let's all listen to Always (or As, depending on which Youtube video you're watching).

  1. STEVIE WONDER - AS

Mr. Stevie Wonder, you are a master genius for writing this song!
  2. ANTHONY HAMILTON & MARSHA AMBROSIUS - ALWAYS

By the way, I think Marsha is underrated and should be much bigger than she is!!! Her voice is ah-MAH-zing!

Oh, and if your body starts to tingle from this version, I was not there by that time o! Drink cold water or jump into the nearest freezer.

Alrighty, I gotta go find go take an ice bath...

Toodles, pretty poodles, and stir-fried noodles!
Berry :)

What I'm Listening To Now... and You MUST LISTEN TOO!!!

Hello you LOVERLY person! You are sooooo lovely. If anyone tells you otherwise, tell them to come talk to me and take a chill pill.

Soooooooooo, I've told you before that my younger sister (well, all my sisters are younger, so I don't actually need to note that she's younger but I digress) and brother have a band - WiKiD. Well, there's a song called "Pompeii" by a band called Bastille, and my brother made a cover of it and I'm sharing with you.

Please comment and share if you like the song.

Whoa!!! I'm SO LATE to the party!!!

ENH?!

So all of you have watched P-Squared's (is it P-Squared or P-Square?) 'Personally' video and didn't think to tell me?!?!

The video was posted on Youtube in June, and none of you thought it would be a good idea to inform me that the video is TOTALLY MAD and a full-on tribute to Michael Jackson, whose death plunged me into near depression?

SMHVS (Shaking my head very slowly)

I'm disappointed in you.

Ok, fine, I accept your apology.

Let's make up and do the moonwalk :)

What I'm Listening to Now - Wedding Music!

Yooooooooooooo!

What's up errbawdy? It's Monday, the skies are grey, there's a lil bit of a drizzle and I just got to work. On my drive though, I looked for a radio station playing soft or gospel music. I'm not sure if I'm a morning person, but I like things to be quiet during that time. If I was still in Atlanta, I'd most likely listen to NPR (or The Bert Show if I want to hear somn silly). Anyways, I found a station, can't remember which one, and the most prettiest song came on, from Fantasia Burrino's new album called End of Me. I think it's too pretty to not share, so here you go.

Isn't it just HAWT?! Doesn't it make you want to go look for somebody to love? I'm 100% sure I want this as a wedding song. Speaking of weddings, do you know that Cakes and I don't even have a song? You know, like couples have a special song that symbolizes their love for each other. If anyone asks what song we want to use as our first dance, we'd probably give blank stares and go round in circles trying to decide. He sha said there won't be any Flavour played at the wedding. ENH?!?!?!?! You people should help me to beg him o. "Nna, nkem, sweetie'm, Cake'm maka why? Biko, nyem Fulehvor."

I jest. I was at a wedding last weekend - Cakes made their cake (I should really show off some of his work here), and one of the favors was a compilation of love songs. Another pretty song I'd never heard before is Love Song by Candice Glover. Imma share it with you too :)

These songs just make me smile :)

What are your favorite love/wedding songs?

What I'm listening to now...

Heeeeeeeeey!

How are ya? How's your week going? *it'd be nice if someone, ANYONE answered one of these questions at some point*

Anyways, today I'm listening to my girl Chee (formerly known as Chidynma/D'Voice).

She's a family friend, and we go waaaaaaaaaaay back. She gave up a career in engineering to move back to Nigeria and pursue her passion - singing. She first came out with a ballad and video, Obimmo, which she also performed at my sister's wedding (with us as her backup singers).

She's come back after a hiatus and hopes to take Nigeria and the rest of the world by storm! I promise you, her voice is AH-MAH-ZING! She's sang in front of different presidents, and even former US President Clinton this year. I believe that THIS YEAR is the beginning of a new phase for her, and I can't wait for her to rise up stratospherically (I just made up this word)!

Without further ado...

Let me know what you think! I personally have been using it to pretend-exercise :D
