As you all know, I've been all about Goals! It's a new year, and most people are in the mental space of creating goals (or making resolutions) for 2019. I created my Goal Getter Guides to help people in setting new goals that align with what they want in life - I hope you've downloaded and started using them! But I wanted to go further and recommend some great devotionals I've come across on Youversion for setting and achieving goals.

How to read your Bible consistently
Hey everyone,
How was your weekend? I hope you had a fun one. I had a pretty good one with my sister's birthday on Friday, brunch with my cousin and Cocoa on Saturday, taking my niece, nephew and Cocoa to the park on Saturday evening, and of course, shooting our weekly talk show Tea With Cubes yesterday! I feel like my weekends are always packed, and I long for a Saturday where I have no plans but to sit home and laze about.
Today I want to write about reading my Bible, and share some tips that have helped me be a little more consistent than before. I'm far from a perfect Christian, and I wish that I was much stronger spiritually, but I know that keeping up with my devotional and prayer time, I will grow over time.

International Women's Day - The Proverbs 31 Woman
Today, March 8th, all over the world, International Women's Day is being recognized. It's not an official holiday but it's a day within Women's History Month when women are celebrated. I wondered how to get myself involved via my blog. I considered doing a Woman Crush Wednesday post, but then couldn't decide who to write about (FYI, I thought about doing a monthly WCW post to highlight women that I've come across who inspire me. Would you be interested in such posts?). I also thought about posting a bunch of quotes about being a Woman, but then I wondered how many quotes to post. And then finally, I decided to go to the Bible and share my thoughts on the passage that talks about the Woman specifically.

Berry's Bible Study - 10 Bible Verses to Help You While You're Trying to Conceive
Hey there!
It's been a really long time since I did a Bible Study post - it was something I wanted to do regularly as mentioned in my 2016 Blog Goals. Somehow I lost track of doing it. I think it might have had something to do with the failed procedure that I mentioned here.

Berry's Bible Study - Praying For Others
I'm in the middle of a Romans Bible Study with some ladies, and in the first chapter of Romans, a certain verse struck me and stayed with me. I shared it and my thoughts on Instagram and thought to share it here too.

Berry's Bible Study: Worship
Hi everyone!
I hope you're having as mahvelous a weekend as I'm having. There'll be another Discover Georgia post up soon :) Of course, if you're on Snapchat and following me, you already know what I discovered this weekend.
Onto the topic of the day - WORSHIP. Can I tell you the truth? As a child, I thought worship songs were sooooooo boring! I loved the Praise part of the service, because we could clap and dance. But worship? Not so much. Getting older though changed my perspective. There's something about a great worship song that shifts or charges the atmosphere. Worship can take you through a whole variety of emotions from awestruck wonder and appreciation of God, to remorse and pleading for forgiveness of sins; to anticipated victory in faith; to humility and reverence of God that makes you fall to your knees and bow; and so much more.

Happy Easter!
Hello friends,
I wish you a wonderful Easter celebration today. Let's all take this time to remember and be grateful for the sacrifice and victory of salvation through Jesus Christ. Here in The States, it's more about the Easter Bunny and Easter Eggs - I found out here that this tradition actually comes from churches of old! But, like Christmas, it's important to remember the reason for the season.
God bless!

Berry's Bible Study - Fear and Discipline
I cannot believe the last time I posted in the Berry Bible Study series was all the way back in January. I was supposed to be shooting for at least twice a month. Well, if I'm being honest, there is a reason why I stopped. The end of January into the first week of February was a very very trying period. I'm talking slipping into depression, not reading the Bible at all, barely being able to pray. It was very very very bad. I'm still suffering for it, actually.
But I know that God is calling out to me and waiting with open arms. He wants me to cast all my cares, worries, and fears on Him. And trust me, I have plenty of those at the moment. Instead of hiding and running, I'm just going to go on and do what I know is right.

Berry's Bible Study - Fasting and Prayer
Hi there!
If this is your first time seeing this, I started a Bible Study series about 2 weeks ago and intend to do it regularly. I almost posted last week, but wasn't sure if I was forcing it. I don't want to feel like I'm forcing a post and my heart isn't in it, but then I just now thought 'What if someone needed to hear what I skipped writing last week?' Hmm.
Anyways, today I want to go over some verses about Fasting. Typically at the beginning of the year, a lot of churches call for corporate fasts ranging from 3 to sometimes a whopping 100 days! I have to admit that mostly while in Atlanta, I partook in our annual 21-day fast, but wouldn't really fast throughout the year again. Additionally when I was fasting, I was not doing the prayer part - which essentially is either going on a hunger strike, or dieting (let's be honest). I also noticed that sometimes I wasn't paying attention to the spiritual part of it, but would excitedly wait to see how much weight I lost (you know you've done that before too, don't lie).

New Series - Berry's Bible Study
Every now and then, I've put up posts around a Bible passage and my thoughts or questions about it. I've also done a Proverbs challenge before, even though I never did the last chapter. I use Youversion Bible app as my preferred tool, and apart from their many many devotionals, they also have Notes where you can write your thoughts about a specific verse or chapter. Sometimes I share my notes publicly and other times I keep them private. I wrote one last week and made it public, and Lola commented that I should post it on the blog.
I thought that posting it was a good idea, and I think it's something I might want to do more often, hence the "series." Please note that Berry's Bible Study is not intended as a way for me to "preach" but just to share my thoughts or ask questions where I get confused. One of the things I miss about living in Atlanta is the weekly Bible study - it was always very informal and everyone got a chance to talk, have fun, and learn. So since I haven't been able to get a Bible study group here (half due to laziness, half due to not seeing any around me), I'll do it right here on my blog. You're welcome to leave comments, answer questions, ask questions, make prayer requests, etc.
Without further ado, here's the first entry.
