How are ya? How was your weekend? I hope you had a good one and are looking forward to a great week ahead. It seems like my weekend posts might be making a comeback. I'm not promising anything but on the weekends I have activities, I WILL post follow-up recaps. Sound good to you? Okay, let's catwalk into this post and the new week.
Saturday was basically my whole weekend, as I had a couple of activities that involved photo shoots. But before that started, I was scheduled to host a Facebook Live Tour on the African Bloggers and Content Creators Facebook group at 11am. I also had a baby shower to attend, also at 11am. And there was a Blogger meet-up/photo shoot organized by the Bloggers of ATL network - which was also scheduled for, you guessed it - 11AM! I literally had 3 things to do at the same time.
I thought about postponing the Facebook Live Tour, but that would have been the second time I'd done that and I didn't want them to think I was an unserious person. So I headed to the location for the Blogger photo shoot, and decided to just go ahead with my presentation on Facebook. It was my first time of doing Facebook Live, but it's quite similar to Periscope, which I have done before. I liked how interactive the viewers were. I basically talked about my Blogging journey, and confessed that recently I have thought about quitting more and more. I also talked about balancing family with transparency on the blog.
Right after I was done, Cakes and I ran into Piedmont Park for the photo shoot. Luckily, they had started late, and I got there just in time. Unfortunately, it was VERY hot and the photos were taken outside, so I had to rush my photos. I did my makeup, planned to have my natural hair out, but it wasn't cooperating, and so I wore my new wig.
I had also been asked if I would help take photos at the baby shower I was supposed to be attending. After rushing through the photo shoot at Piedmont Park, Cakes and I hurriedly left and headed to the baby shower. I met up with my sister, niece and cousin there and it was nice to hang out with them. Right after the event, we got up to our own mini photo shoot outside before leaving for home.
I pretty much spent the whole of Sunday editing photos. I'm half thinking about possibly doing photography on the side for extra income. We'll see what happens with that. Let's hope it doesn't end up like this other venture.
The photos from the Bloggers of ATL shoot will be available in a couple of weeks I think. Once they're ready, I will post them here of course. And that was my weekend of photo shoots.
I hope you have a lovely week. God bless, hugs and plenty kisses!
Look at all that glowy skin! - my reaction to your family pictures. Glad everything worked out well in the end!
ReplyDeleteOn the side hustle, you absolutely should. No matter what, you'll have experience, an extra income, built more connections...etc.
Cheers,
Vivian

Hahaha @ glowing. Thank you very much - on their behalf as well.
DeleteGirl, I'm seriously considering it. Starting out free to build experience and all that.
Thanks!
Oh that's ur cousin who did ur makeup some months ago :-)
ReplyDeleteBerry, ur looking nice. I really like the fit of this outfit on you
Photography's a good side business, but what about your acting? I watched a short video of you some time ago, where you acted as the mother of a guy who wanted to marry an african American, or something like that... I thought you were really good! I hope we'll get to see more acting from you
That's her sister actually. I'm surprised you thought it was her, cos I don't think they even look alike.
DeleteThanks for the compliment. I know I'm making more of them for myself and to sell as well.
Hmm. The acting. I don't even know o. I actually did something here in Atlanta a few months ago, but I don't know if my part will be in the movie or not. If it is, I'll point it out to anyone who wants to watch it. Thanks though :D
Hugs right back! I love when couples unintentionally match! And the wig looks really nice Berry! Yes to a side hustle biko. And the bae in blue loooks soooo familiar. Did she go to QC? Or maybe she's just familiar from your blog!

Thanks, thanks, and thanks. That's my cousin and yes, she did go to QC. She and her sisters, one of them was the one that did my natural glam makeup.
DeleteSeems like you had a packed Saturday. I'm with Cakes on the matching outfits. I am not a fan. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think the side hustle thing is a great idea. A friend of mine started doing photography in grad school as a hobby. By the time he was graduating, he was getting paid to take photos of events in his school. He was even able to upgrade his equipment. It can definitely work out for you.
Have a great week!
Don't Touch the Hair
LOL! You're the first female that doesn't like it. I mean, I don't love the matching but if it's done in a way that isn't obvious, I like it.
DeleteYou see your friend?! I can be like your friend! I should get started.
Have a pretty week too!
Awww lovely pictures! Cute matching outfits, you two!
ReplyDeleteHappy to see that you got everything done and could still smile for the camera.
Have a blessed new week, sweetie!

I think it's nice if the matching is subtle and not very in-your-face.
DeleteSaturday was busy but fun. I'm not sure how I managed to stay awake till 2am.
This is so nice Berry.
