On Adulting

Hi there!

I'm sure some of you reading this are wondering if I've started making up words and gone crazy. Like, what the heck is "Adulting?" You should see the squiggly red underline staring angrily at me right now. You know? The one that shows incorrect spellings.

Well, it turns out that "Adulting" is a newly coined word from 2014, that millennials are throwing around. I first heard it a month or two ago from my sister in this post. By the way, for those that guessed I'm 8 years older than her, you're CORRECT!!! I wish you were winning a prize but I'm jobless right now, so I think YOU should give me a prize.

Anyways, Urban Dictionary defines Adulting as:

(Verb)- To do grown up things and hold responsibilities such as a full-time job,
a mortgage/rent, car payment, or anything else that makes one think of grown ups.

But erm, isn't this just plain growing up? Maybe I'm an old head and I don't know anything, but really, some things are just silly.

I must admit that I agree with this photo below though.

For kicks though, tell me how you're adulting today. :D

Also share the random words you've come across that you think are silly.

  2. Berry, u just succeeded in making me cry. I was going thru my pictures when I was 10-14 years younger, still in school and fully dependent on my dad. With my care free attitude, going on holidays with my girl friends, road trips. etc. Awhhhh. Adulting is hard I tell you. I have some up moments, but currently am feeling down.

    How am I adulting today? hmm I guess the fact that I rolled out of bed at 6am vs. sleeping in till 12 noon. Until the I score big on the powerball, I'll have to keep adulting.

  5. Ha Ha Ha. The word I can't stand is "Lit". I just can not stand the overusage. First time I heard it, thought it was the short form of "literally"

  7. As a young adult, I sometimes feel I don't have a right to cry about the 'adulting' process as some persons have been in it far longer than I with tons of responsibilities and are not complaining. But mehn, 'adulting' is hard (true) but I'm hanging in there *smiles* I wrote a lil about it here;
