As I shared in my last vlog (I promise I'll put up a proper blog post with actual words and photos soon), I traveled solo to San Juan, Puerto Rico. On Day 2 I embarked on a tour to El Yunque Rainforest, which was definitely out of my comfort zone! I'm glad I went though and I hope you enjoy the vlog. Stay tuned for Day 3's vlog coming soon.

It's been ages since I put up a hair post, much less a hair style tutorial. But today, I'm sharing how I did a very quick and easy High Ponytail style on my natural hair. It's also a protective style as the ends of my hair are tucked away. You already know that last year I cut my hair into a Tapered Cut (and also shared why). My hair has grown out a little faster than I anticipated, and I don't feel like I really played around with the shorter style. It's okay though, moving on. I hope you enjoy this short tutorial, and gives you some ideas on how to style your natural hair. BTW, I also played around with the High Ponytail, so there are 2 bonus styles at the end!

Today I'm sharing my latest Youtube video where I chit chat about how sometimes when you're feeling down and telling someone about your problems, they tend to downplay them. For instance, they'll tell you about someone else who's worse off than you, or tell you that you should even be happy about one thing or another. They don't really let you feel your emotions, and kinda brush you off.
I'm not saying anyone should wallow in their sadness or despair, but sometimes you just need to be able to acknowledge how you feel and talk about stuff, to start the process of letting it go. So without further ado, here's my video on "Na Me Suffer Pass!"

Hey y'all. In my attempt to get back to creating content and putting up posts and videos, I had to remind myself to just do it. I initially wanted to make sure that my first video in a long time would be made under "perfect" circumstances - peace and quiet in the house, makeup done, better lighting, etc. But then I realized I was just looking for excuses. Life isn't perfect and as much as I would like to have all the graphics and interior design back-drops that everyone on Youtube has, that's just not my situation right now. I'll improve with time but I needed to simply start again. And so here's my first video of the year - with a special guest!

When I found out I was pregnant, the very first person I told was Cakes. Then we proceeded to tell our mothers, who were both understandably excited. I considered telling my immediate younger sister, but came up with a plan to reveal all as a Christmas present! I wasn't sure if I could really hide my pregnancy and keep it a secret for basically a whole month, but I did and the pregnancy reveal video has been making waves and causing tears all over. If you haven't seen it, make sure to grab a tissue :D
Within the last few weeks, I've seen a couple of other Youtubers do this tag, and I thought it would be fun to do it as well. I enjoy Youtube tags because they are very easy to do - which makes for easy editing!

Sometimes you see or hear a lot of negativity concerning dark skin, and equating it with being average or even less than! As a dark skinned beauty, I have had my tiny share of doubt about my complexion, but thankfully it was a short phase and I love it. In today's world where many young girls are being told their dark skin is ugly, I'm here to say YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!
Exactly a week ago, the US Thanksgiving holiday was upon us. It's typically a day with lots of food, family, friends and fun. Even when I lived in Nigeria, I made sure to be here in Atlanta for Thanksgiving - so that I'd be in Lagos with Cakes for Christmas. I've had a hard time being grateful lately, so I took it upon myself to come up with a list of ways to infuse gratitude into one's life. Tammy, my most frequent vlog guest was home for Thanksgiving and shared some tips as well.
I know it's something I've talked about here before - all the negativity that's out there in the world these days, especially online and social media. Here's a short message from me to you today to show some kindness to people in your sphere! You never know who's watching or whose life you're touching.
A few months ago my sister and I decided to do the 5-Minute Makeup Challenge that was going around on Youtube. We both enjoy makeup, even though we're not pro's - I do have to say that Tammy is way better at it than I am though. I had seen other people do it on Youtube and thought it would be an easy feat, but as you can tell in the video - it really isn't!
Oh, and I found out I had been using the worst BB cream ever when I saw my final results! Has that ever happened to you - thinking you look fly and then looking in the mirror (or seeing video) and seeing how horrendous you actually look?! Ah well. I haven't done anything hair-related in a while, and since you guys liked my hair from this post, and someone specifically requested it, I decided to record and post this tutorial. It's a very simple natural hair style that can be done on medium to long hair. Since my ends are tucked away, it's a protective hair style and if maintained properly, can be worn for up to a week or even more.

As you all know, Cakes and I were apart for almost two months recently. His bakery still runs in Lagos, Nigeria and he went to go and check on things over there. Like I have mentioned before, he will be going back and forth between Lagos and Atlanta. Anyways, while he was away, I kept getting questions and messages that insinuated that I was probably miserable because he wasn't with me. Erm... not quite.

It's been 2 months since my family visited the UK. In my multi-part UK series posts, you saw England and Scotland through my eyes. One part of the trip I haven't yet posted on was our accommodation/vacation rentals.
How was your weekend? Mine was pretty darn good with lots of laughs - including going out for appetizers and desserts with my sister and cousin, and finding out that I forgot my handbag at the restaurant AFTER WE GOT HOME!!! I'm the only person that such things happen to, but thank God, they kept my bag and I rushed back over to get it :)
