Berry Sweet Valentine Weekend!!!

Hello dahlins and lovers!!!

How was your Valentine weekend? If you're single, what and what did you do? If you're hooked up, what did you buy and what did you get? Tell me in the comments :)

Well, if you follow me on Instagram, you already know what I did for Cakes, and if you're not on Instagram you'll find out soon enough. We had a decent Valentine sha.

First of all, on Friday, I got one half of my Valentine's wish! Yup, PIZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! And yes, I ordered it for myself, because someone was busy fulfilling other people's Valentine orders. All I can tell you is that my Extravaganza Pizza was exactly what I needed! Thanks Domino's!

It's best to have a bowl of salad before your pizza, so that you don't overdo it.
Doesn't that just look gorgeous?!?!?!?
On Saturday morning, Cakes left the apartment at about 2am or so - yup, more Valentine cakes. I woke up pretty early - I think my body clock is set to wake up before 6am. I was up at 5:45am, and I thought to myself, "Since the generator is still on for another hour, I might as well get going with my Valentine surprise to Cakes."

While those were in the oven (that wanted to embarrass my life btw!!!!!), I plopped in front of the TV and gasped in pleasant surprise because one of my all-time favorite Disney cartoons was on!!!

I know you, I walked with you once upon a dreeeeeeeam!

All I know is that Princess Aurora and Prince Philip are the best looking Disney couple ever! Esmerelda and Princess Jasmine are very beautiful too.
FUN FACT: I used to crush on male cartoon characters... especially teenage Johnny Quest!

In no time, my chocolate cakes were ready! The frosting though - that's a whole other story. The lesson to learn is follow the recipe!

I added almonds to spruce up the cake a little bit. Since my frosting didn't come out well (it was too soft), I just put a little bit on top, and wrote out a simple message with my almonds.

Just so you know, about 8 out of 10 people that I mentioned this idea to, told me not to do it! The NAYSAYERS were like, "No, how can you bake for a professional baker? He's going to judge your cake. Love is not going to make the cake taste good!" Well, to all of you mean people, HE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! He was very surprised, and he said I did a good job with the baking, so HARDY HAR HAR!!!

He got me flowers... again... flowers on Valentine's Day are so cliché.

Who wants cake and ice cream a la Berry?
On Sunday, after church, I had a day out with my girls. We had brunch at Intercontinental. Now, ordinarily, I wouldn't have minded the price (N10500). But I got full after 1.5 plates of food - none of which was rice, or pasta, or anything filling like that. All I had was mostly meat and I was very very very full. I feel like I wasted that money :(

Plate 1. My second plate was just 2 naan and sauce.
After brunch, we headed to Terra Kulture to watch a play - which wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. But at least, we had a nice time perusing the bookstore. Or is it a library too? Some guys were reading and kept giving us looks like we were disturbing them :-S

I wish I had a library at home
Towards the end of the day, I followed Cakes on one last delivery.

Oh yeah, and earlier in the day, we dropped off this beauty.

So that was my weekend. Not too shabby, right?

I love that cakes loved the cake..shows that it's not really the gift that counts, but the thought and love that goes into it..

  9. You had a nice valentine Berry and that cake looks yummy!! I was ill through out valentine's day so I lay in bed till I got better in the evening. Although, I did get a cute valentine's gift- a pillow with the wordings " forget valentine's day I love you everyday" all the way from my boyfriend in the UK. I was so shocked and very very pleased.
