Berry Southern-Polka Weekend

Hello Double D's!

It's Monday again! Are we saying "Booooooooooooo" or "Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay?" I guess it depends on what your week ahead looks like, and whether you like, love, or loathe your job. Whatever your situation, I hope you have as good a week as possible. :)

So, what did I get up to this weekend? Well, Cakes and I had plans on Friday for a hawt date. I was going to get home after work, relax a little bit, get refreshed and wear somn flirty. Then we would get dinner, maybe have drinks afterwards, and catch a late night movie. Well, life happened. We went to visit my aunt who I lived with during my NYSC year. There was a bunch of traffic afterwards, so we just chose to go and grab dinner at Four Points Sheraton. Since we didn't go home, there are no pictures from the buffet dinner at Brazzerie Restaurant in Four Points. Sawry :( I enjoyed the food though, as it was Seafood Night.
Since I don't have pictures from Friday, manage this one from yesterday
On Saturday, I had made plans to hang out with my friends Sheila and Olaitan. The plan was to get brunch at this place called Switch Lounge in Lekki 1. I had checked online for reviews and opening times, and looked forward to trying their brunch menu. That's how Sheila got there before me and said it was closed. Not shut down closed o. Just unopen closed. So we decided to head towards another restaurant, but on the way there, I noticed this tiny place and the sign said, "CHICKEN AND WAFFLES." As a Southern gal (ATL SHAWTY), my interest was more than piqued. Of course, I turned right back around and this became the new plan. :D

When you walk into Mico's Chicken & Waffles, the first thing you notice is how small the place is. There's enough seating for maybe 9 people. We got a table and tried to decide what we wanted from the menu.

After speaking to the manager, who was very polite and friendly, Olaitan ordered pancakes, while Sheila and I both decided to try pancakes and the Waffle Drumstick. They explained that the drumstick was in the middle of the waffle. Huh? Well, see it below :)

I got whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and strawberry syrup as toppings for my pancakes. Yeah, I like my pancakes loaded. And besides, I wasn't planning on eating anything heavy through the day. So all you FitFammers should not jump on my head :p

Anyways, all I know is "Thank God, I can have my IHOP cravings satisfied whenever I feel like now." The pancakes were fluffy, just like American pancakes. The Waffle Drumstick itself wasn't bad. Although next time, I'd rather go for the waffle and chicken separately.

BTW, all 3 of us ate and our combined bill was just N3300!!! The pricing is NOT BAD AT ALL!

Moving on, Sunday service at This Present House church was awesome!!! It was a praise service and I danced and danced and danced. Thank God I decided to wear my slippers instead of shoes. The artists - Modele, Akpororo (whose main gig is comedy) and Tim Godfrey were so so good! This whole week is a festival of praise, so there'll be praise night every evening from 6:30pm if you're interested.

After church, Cakes and I went to drop off this beauty...

Then we went to my sister-in-law's house, because Cakes' mum cooked their native soup, Owo (which I don't eat because I'm ultra picky with Nigerian soups). I have half a mind to report Cakes to you, but I'll save the incriminating photos for another day. If you really want to see the pictures, you can buy me some new shoes. Cakes, if you want me to keep the photos to myself, you can buy me some shoes and a dress.

When we finally got home, there was still a little sunlight left, so I took some pictures as I'd dressed up in a polka dot theme :D

Shrinkage is all kinds of real!

Love my Isaac Mizrahi shoes!
So, that was my weekend! Have a beautiful berrylicious week!

Loads of hugs n kisses!
