Flashback Friday - 1995 Music

Woohoo! Weekend's here again. I haven't decided if I'll be out and about or sitting at home. I had a health scare at the beginning of the week, so I might be forced to stay home all day Saturday. I do want to go to LPM on Sunday though. I just know there's some necklace or top or skirt or anything that's waiting for me to come and purchase her.

Regardless of whether I stay home or not, my post yesterday reminded me about how when I was younger, people said I looked like Patra. I'm not sure how. Back then, I really wasn't happy about that comparison. I was in SU (Scripture Union) and being compared to Patra made me feel bad. But truth is, I enjoyed her music. And so I shall start off my flashback with her :)

DISCLAIMER: I didn't watch her videos as a child, so I'm really not familiar with them and I'm just posting without watching them. Therefore  if you are offended by any video, don't blame me. But they can't be as raunchy as Rihanna or Nicki Minaj, right?

P.S. All the videos/songs are from 1995. Mehnnnnnnnnnnn, 1995. I was 13 years old going to SS2 from SS1. I had had my first boyfriend (rolls eyes... saw him at my sister's traditional wedding 3 years ago, and he boldly asked me to have an affair with him). I was kissed at 13, but can't remember if it was in '95 or '96.

Patra ft Aaron Hall - Scent of Attraction

Diana King - Love Triangle (She also sang Shy Guy)

Shaggy - Mr. Boombastic (what does this mean?)

TLC - Creep (Another song I wasn't allowed to listen to because of SU)

Coolio ft. L.V. - Gangsta's Paradise (THIS WAS MY JAAAAAAAAAAAAM)

Did you ever hear L.V.'s solo?

Adina Howard - Freak Like Me

I'll Be There For You (MOST FAVORITE SHOW EVER!!! Well, one of them)

George Michael - Jesus to a Child

Seal - Kiss From a Rose

Los Del Rio - Macarena (I will dance this ANYWHERE, ANYTIME)

There are sooooooooo many other songs I could have added, but let's just go with these.
Have a lovely pretty weekend my dears!

  1. We are in the same age bracket +/- 2 years. Memories girl! Those were the days. I enjoyed my teenage years back in the 90's. I also remember TV shows like Living Single, Fresh Prince. I don't know what's its like for teenagers now but I wouldn't trade that era for the now.

By the Way, your feature on Bella Naija was awesome. I loved it. Beautiful wedding days.

    1. Thanks!

I was just jamming to the songs, saying to myself, "This is when music was music." LOL, and I know our parents say the same thing about their music.

  2. Memories mehnnnnn, I rocked almost all these songs and the "butterfly"dance. 1995, I was in jss 3 going to ss1 and I had a major health challenge that year (was in the hospital for almost 2 months). Thinking of that year now just reminds me to be grateful to God for my life.
