Holiday Snaps

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

*this post draft has been lingering for over a month, and for that, I apologize.*

So last month I told y'all about how I wept over the apparent "loss" of my engagement ring. Again, Thank Youuuuu for sympathizing with me (smiles) and Booooooo for laughing at me (sticks tongue out, while frowning). Anyways, just thought to share the highlights of my much needed vacay with all y'all. I know I've said "y'all" twice already, but being home in Atlanta does that to me. Okay, moving on...

I got to Atlanta bright and early... too early, as the airport wasn't even open yet, and we had to wait for 30 mins before we could disembark. We eventually did, and it was off to hug my parents, sister/her hubby and the most adorable nephew in the whole entire universe!!! My family's camera-shy so no pics of them on here.

HIGHLIGHT 1 - Wedding Dress Shopping!!!!!!!!!!! The 'rents, sister and I found my dress at the first store we visited. But just to be sure, and because we had another appointment, we checked out another store. They also had a really nice dress, but at the end of the day, I could have only one and I selected the one everyone liked the most. Nope, I'm not sharing details or pictures. My friend's convinced I got a pink or black dress, because she thinks I'm very random! But then again, I could shock her and wear a white dress. All will be revealed AFTER the wedding :D

HIGHLIGHT 2 - Family Cruisin' Together!!! We went on a 6/7-day cruise to Turks and Caicos, Jamaica and The Bahamas. FUN does not begin to describe! I think I'm a cruise convert and want to go on a cruise every single year after this :). The islands are so pretty (well, the touristy parts and the beaches. *side note* You tend to forget that these are real countries with real people with real problems. There was a guy in Jamaica begging for money for food, by the ship. In the Bahamas, the taxi/tourist drivers ended up being crooks and cheating us). Anyways, the water is sooooooooooo blue! Why's water on that side of the world blue, and not here? My dad said it's the sky's reflection. Does that mean we don't have blue skies in Nigeria? Like ever? I haven't noticed, come to think of it. The ship itself was AH-MAH-ZING. See PARTY EVERY SINGLE DAY! And let's not get into the fooooooooood! I gained 5 pounds :( but I'm working hard to lose them now, so wish me luck.

The ship was a NONSTOP PARTY!!!

Serenity.

One of our lovely meals!

HELLO TURKS AND CAICOS!

JAMAICA MON!

*ahem* What are the couples doing?

I see some VERY BAD pigs!

What are they hiding under there?

NAUGHTY NAUGHTY!!!!!!!!!!

One of these guys suggested I leave the boat and stay with him in Jamaica :p

Comedian Jayln Smith.

Towel animals. Sooooo adorable!

I LOVE YOU!
*Erm, no pics from Bahamas. I wasn't having a good-looking day. :p*

HIGHLIGHT 3 - Family Birthdays Dinner! All 3 of my siblings are born in September, so we had a birthday dinner for everyone, and ate even more food. Spending time with your family is THE BEST! LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

HIGHLIGHT 4 - Surprise Bridal Showerrrrrrrrrrrrr. My cousin, sisters, mum, aunts, and church ladies surprised me with a Bridal Shower! I went out with my mum and aunts right after church for about an hour or two, that Sunday. When we got home, I walked to the door and rang the bell. My adorable 18-month old nephew came to the door and I was playing with him when I heard "SURPRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISE!" I turned to look behind me wondering who the surprise was for, but a second later, remembered that all the birthday people were already inside the house. It still didn't click until someone said, "Ermmm, hello? Bridal Shower. For you!" THEN, it hit me and I felt sooooooooo embarrassed and loved and shocked. I had seen everyone at church that morning and NOBODY said a word! They were all like, "Berry, you're visiting? Please move back to Atlanta!" but none of them uttered, "See you later." I'm generally hard to surprise, so I must say that they did a FANTASTIC job!

Tissue Wedding Dress Contest!

The winning dress!

The winning team!

Berry and Cupcakes (sister)!

Me, my mum, and grandma. 3 generations of ADA!

A word of prayer.

After all this, was a whirlwind of wedding shopping! Needless to say, I was exhausted by the time I got back. Isn't it funny that you need a vacay AFTER a vacay? Lol.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures :)

*hugs and a big big kiss*

  8. You know I just started reading your blog and I actually found it through your ajebutter nysc blog. Your first entry on there was something to the effect of you joking about moving back home to find your prince charming. Our words are very powerful. So happy for you that your dreams came true. Congrats!
