Old Love and New Love

Today I did something that I haven't done in a long time. When you go through a particularly tough time, like I've mentioned a few times, you can begin to lose yourself. When you laugh, the laughter is mostly hollow. When you smile, it doesn't quite reach your eyes. You subconsciously carry a weight on you that makes you slouch. You slowly stop doing the things you used to enjoy. You forget or lose the will to do the things you used to love. I stopped writing. I stopped twirling. I didn't want to play with makeup anymore. I can't even remember the last time I listened to Flavour! *hang on, I'm about to play my favorite song of his - Destiny*

Anyway, in trying to reclaim myself, today I rediscovered an old love - photography. I used to carry my camera everywhere! I took interest in mundane things, because I could see beautiful photographs in them. I've shared some posts on random photo walks I took (see here and here). Today, I picked up my old love and used it to capture beautiful images of my new love - Cocoa.

She started walking like a pro last weekend, and she's all over the place! This morning, while walking around the house in circles, I decided to grab my camera and take her outside for an impromptu photo shoot. Cocoa is a VERY delightful little girl, and I love love love everything about her - even her mini tantrums. I enjoyed capturing her smiles as she walked around outside, while trying to pick things off the ground to taste them.

Right after our photo shoot, I gave her a bath (during which she slept off). When she woke up, I took a few more photos.

Taking photos today felt quite nice. Cocoa being my subject made it even nicer. Merging my old love and my new love = PRICELESS. I hope you like the photos.

Have a nice day.
