I posted for 31 Days straight on Instagram

Hi everyone,

Welcome to September! It seems like the year just started and it's already ending. I'm not sure if I've accomplished a quarter of the things I wanted to do this year. But there are 4 months in the year left - a little over 120 days, so I really should do what I can to make them count.

INSTAGRAM GIVEAWAY with AJALI HANDMADE PRODUCTS

Hey there,

It's been a while since there was a giveaway, right? Let's start off this new week with something from one of my absolute favorite brands, Ajali Handmade Products! The beauty brand has been running for 3 years and they're celebrating ALL MONTH LONG! The giveaway with me is on Instagram, so if you're not following yet, now is the time!

The rules are simple:

Teal Gele and Pink Lace

Hola!

I'm slowly counting down, re: my big news from yesterday. Because of the changes coming very soon, it's making me a little nostalgic for having custom-made outfits courtesy of Nigerian tailors. In the States, having a simple ankara dress made for you can run from $80 and above. Seriously, take a look at some designers that sell ankara clothes abroad, and you'll see a simple pencil skirt for $100 +! Having tailors at cheaper prices here is something that I'll definitely miss.

Anyways, before the tears start, let's go ahead with this post. Over the weekend, Cakes' friend got married and the pink lace asoebi came with a teal gele. As I mentioned in this post, I don't like to wear geles, so I asked my tailor to turn it into a top.

HOW TO: Multiple Instagram Accounts

One of the best pieces of news I heard this week was that Instagram now allows you to add, switch and manage multiple accounts at once! For some of you, you might ask why anyone needs more than one Instagram account. Others, especially Bloggers, Business Owners, Social Media Marketers, may need to have separate personal and business Instagram accounts.

On my part, I manage the Instagram feeds for Berry Dakara, Cakesiena and African Naturalistas. I admit, I haven't done as well as I could have for some of the other accounts partly because I was too lazy to worry about logging on and off Instagram several times a day. So this is perfect for me, and I decided to share a quick guide on how to add and switch between multiple Instagram accounts.

Berry Dakara Instagram 2015 Best Nine

Yo yo,

I wasn't sure if I would do a 2015 Blog recap, like I did for 2014 - but I guess I should right?

Anyways, a couple of days ago, I started noticing the following hashtag on Instagram - #2015BestNine. So today I decided to check mine out and I thought it'd be nice to share with you :D

Berry Busy Weekend

You guys!

Let's all just thank God that I'm actually putting this post up today. Yes, it's late but at least it's still Monday. If I tell you how tired I am enh! As in, I've been dizzy for the past how many hours but managing it. I just want to put up this post and crash. I wish I could take a day off work - I really need to sleep.

Ah well.

I had the busiest weekend ever!!! Friday, Saturday, Sunday - full of activities. I think I slept at 2am or so on both Friday and Saturday nights. And no, I wasn't clubbing. I just got home really late - past midnight - and it took me a little bit to finally fall asleep. Anyway, let's get started on the weekend gist, aye? It's long o. Just balance well in your chair or bed or wherever.

Berry Change-ful Weekend

Hey hey hey,

How are ya Dakara Dahlings?!?!?! Yes I'm using my fake Bri-ish accent, innit? Screw blokes who haye (Bri-ish accent for "hate") on accents innit? How was your weekend? Mahvelous, I hope! Mine was pre-ey full, innit? It almost seemed like the theme of my weekend centered on change. The first change I MUST tell you about is that I found out my husband has been chea-ing!!! I was in so much shock and uh-erly broken when I heard.

Berry Twirly Weekend

Hey baby, hey baby, HEY!

And just like that, the elections are over!!! Oh wait, not quite. We're still not sure as of this moment who won, and there are still State elections coming in 2 weeks. Oh brother, can it all be over already? I'm sick of all the political ads on radio and all over the streets. Anyways, I didn't get to vote - see what had happened was... I never registered. Shame on me! Cakes voted though and I say "BRAVO, BRAVA" to everyone else who did. May there be no rigging and may there be peace throughout the land.

On that note, movement was largely restricted this weekend, so I didn't get up to much. I actually was sick of staying home and couldn't wait to leave the apartment on Sunday. Cakes and I went to The Waterbrook Church yesterday - the sermon was very much needed. I feel like it's been a long time since I got to sit and learn/receive. The main point of the sermon was basically coming [back] to God, instead of worrying about one thing or another. Pastor Mobo said, "WHY WORRY WHEN YOU CAN PRAY?" (Isaiah 41:10; Philippians 4:6-7)

My Number 1 Problem with Beyonce

*DISCLAIMER #1* I don't hate Beyonce.

*DISCLAIMER #2* I haven't always had problems with Beyonce.

*DISCLAIMER #3* I'm not trying to step on any toes, so please don't call the Beygency on me. They're scary.

Now that that's out of the way, let me continue with this rant of sorts.

When Destiny's Child first came out in the 1990's, they were arguably my favorite female group in the world! Apart from a few songs which I downright hated, most of their music were my JAMS!!! Their Survivor album stands as one of my favorite albums of all time. It's just hit after hit after hit! I was a little irritated when they shook up the group (removing Letoya and LaTavia); but whatever, as long as the music kept coming, I was all good.

The biggest draw of Destiny's Child to me was Beyonce. I mean, she was pretty, she could dance, she had a booty, she was thick (thick of the 90s and 00s is not the same thick of today o), I hated the way she spoke, but overall, I reeeeeeeeeeeally liked her. In fact, I would pretend that I was her in my bedroom. I tried to mimic her modulations in all the songs, and I was just awed by her. It goes without saying that when she went solo, I was excited. Naughty Girl from her Dangerously in Love album remains on my Favorite Songs list forever and ever and ever!

My very first Iro and Buba!

Yo yo!

I wasn't going to put up this post now, but I have too many pictures from me and Cakes' Dubai trip and then my subsequent jaunt over to my other homeland. I was going to post those first, and then post this one after, but the pictures are too nice jo, so I'm sharing now.

If you guys have noticed, I don't really wear that much traditional attire, and when I do, I prefer them as separates or in "Western" styles (like here) - pencil skirt with a t-shirt, or trad top with jeans, etc. It's not that I don't like them. It's that going to look for materials, then getting a tailor to sew, and the waiting period where you think your tailor has kidnapped your outfit, etc just stresses me out. Anyways, the point of my rambling is that I finally got my very own, first, grown-up Iro and Buba!

My girl, Stylefash would wear them day in and out if you allow her, and I just couldn't understand why. However, after this past Sunday, I must admit that I'm a convert. I'd like to buy bunches and bunches of material and make like 50!!! Please recommend places or businesses where I can buy good quality, but responsibly priced materials :) This one was gotten from O and G, a new business owned by a family friend. I'll get her contact details and share here. I chose this print because of the peacock details and I thought the color would look fabulous against my dark skin. Do you agree?

Without further ado...

Berry Dakara Notes

Hey y'all,

Howdy? How's your week been? Did you have a pretty week? Mine was blehry. I got home later than 10pm two days in a row (not like I stayed late at work - I had to get my eye brows done and didn't want to deal with traffic, and the following day I decided to go for midweek service). But getting home late meant I didn't get enough sleep on those nights. It was bad enough that on Thursday morning, I got to work early and slept off in my car for 45 minutes :D

Anyways, if you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen the pictures below. For everyone else, sometimes I have a thought that I really want to share and make pretty, so I use S Memo to create notes on my phone and share them as pictures on Instagram (and sometimes Twitter). Just thought to share some of 'em here. Of course, the thoughts are mostly random :)

FOINALLY ON INSTAGRAM!

Yo yo!

Everyone say CONGRATULATIONS AND YAY YOU, BERRY!!!

There was a time when my family and friends would say I was vain (they still think so). They will tell anybody who's willing to listen, that I'm VERY INTO MYSELF! The number of selfies on my phone and camera, would seemingly be used as evidence. In fact, after I got engaged, my mum told Cakes that he should be ready for a lifetime of Lights, Camera, Click!

However, I must point out that it simply is NOT true. I enjoy photography. I like taking pictures. A LOT. Is it my fault that I happen to be the only person with myself 24/7? If I had a friend with me 24 hours of the day, I'm sure I'd take their picture all the time. But since it's just me, myself, and I (who is a very willing subject, might I add), why not just take a picture of me? That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Anyways, anyone would have thought that by now I'd have jumped with glee on the Instagram bandwagon. Alas, my non-Apple, non-Android having self could not adequately join and do the app justice. BUT I'm here to announce that my brand new Samsung S4 has given me the necessary push to join.

PLEASE NOTE: I don't know how to use this blawdy phone. I literally had to call my friend to talk me through how to search for people on Instagram. It's going to take me a while to get used to it.

In any case, let me know your user ids, and look me up: Berry Dakara, so we can have Instafun!

My pictures might end up being boring sha. :-|

:)
