Oh ...Thanks Amaka. Feel free to share the video :D

Oh wow. Those comments about your second daughter are so wrong. Those are the kinds of comments that grow with you if care isn't taken. Please make sure to constantly tell her that she's beautiful. All your children are beautiful and it doesn't matter the color of their skin. I remember going to an event in Nigeria and inside the goody bag was filled with lightening products. I was so offended enh. Like, did I tell you I want to be lighter skinned?

Coconut oil is nice to use, except that I walk around wondering if someone is eating coconut jollof rice :pBerry Dakarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12228332437019976580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5924600384444388546.post-55800093450530286512017-03-07T14:50:38.458-05:002017-03-07T14:50:38.458-05:00YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS and AMEN TO THAT!YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS and AMEN TO THAT!Berry Dakarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12228332437019976580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5924600384444388546.post-41405338166991909012017-02-16T04:50:11.984-05:002017-02-16T04:50:11.984-05:00Berry, this video needs to go viral. The message i...Berry, this video needs to go viral. The message is strong. As you rightly put, everyone should be comfortable in their skin colour. I am fair skinned, and never took notice of my complexion, but a remark at my colour when I was in secondary school'yellow pawpaw' made me to start using Vaseline and staying under the sun to get toned. Society has made almost everyone believe that the fairer the finer. 90% of my dark skinned friends, all pray that their babies will turn out fair and remain fair. My first daughter is fair, while my second daughter is dark. I got lots of remarks when I had her, 'black baby', 'Why are not fair like your sister', 'Why did you not take ur mummy's complexion, why take ur daddy's'.

Berry, you won't believe this, now that I have a son who is fair skinned, people actually comment and say stuffs like, 'You should have taken Ose's colour, and give your colour to Ose' or 'if only it's possible for both of you to switch' or 'Ose looks like a boy, OJ looks like a girl, I wish they can swap'. Excuse me, male or female can be dark!

I hate it when people pass such comments. Please lets learn to love our skin colour whichever way.

Amaka Obehihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10662082183677035359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5924600384444388546.post-88668088272345836502017-02-08T18:40:30.963-05:002017-02-08T18:40:30.963-05:00Haven't watched the video yet but have to say,...Haven't watched the video yet but have to say, spot on. I'm dark skinned and beautiful hehe. Yes I too, went through a mercifully short phase of trying to "tone" (read bleach *cringe*) down my darkness. But my skin reacted to everything. From breakouts to eczema-like patches. I even dark, burnt-looking finger nails one time yuck. I told myself I had to stop and accept and love my complexion for what it was. Now I run away anything with the slightest hint of "lightening", "whitening", "carotone", "papaya" lol. In fact I don't use commercial lotions anymore. Just coconut oil. Self love is bae lol. Cheers Berry.

Mitchell Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5924600384444388546.post-9631666370873909392017-02-03T05:03:19.866-05:002017-02-03T05:03:19.866-05:00I am beautiful and I know it.
